I was recommended to this place by someone at work after discussing that DC has no good coffee shops and they were able to prove me wrong with lost socks which just opened up. I ordered an iced coffee and my boyfriend got their single origin americano with a chorizo empanada and a kouign-amann, both of which were flaky and delicious. (For Dog owners, it’s even next to the local dog park, perfect for your morning walks) if you’re a coffee lover looking for a great spot, this is it.

New coffee shop on the Noma area! Overall I would say it’s worth trying if you’re close. The coffee was not ground breaking but I enjoyed the atmosphere and their selection of pastries, breakfast, and lunch options. I had a cold brew with a “crogel” which is an everything bagel flavored croissant. The coffee was ok. The pastry was delicious however! Music playing at a nice volume and a good amount of staff working first thing in the morning so the coffee came out quick.

Great food. Great coffee. But a few negatives....no outdoor seating and very limited indoor seating. Slow. I mean SLOW. 20 minutes after my coffee my food was ready. They need to step it up in the kitchen. Overall a great place for breakfast and coffee, just a few small things to make this a 5-Star rating.

In response to Catherine Sanchez review: I watched that “situation” happen. I was waiting outside with my dog with about three other random people and their pets. That lady stormed into the cafe with her dog where she caused a scene after being told the rules by the workers who politely tried to accommodate her. When she came back outside with her dog she was cussing up a storm, calling the workers derogatory terms and throwing a fit about the rule.

No one else outside waiting with their dog had a problem with this policy and the customers in the shop seemed to be uncomfortable since it is smaller cafe and she had a bigger dog (which was the only animal in there meanwhile everyone else’s pet were outside waiting).I guess Mrs. Sanchez thought that the rules weren’t applicable to her and it was an excuse to be rude to the service workers.

I applaud the staff who had to handle that situation and to have to deal with difficult customers like this. They have only been open in the neighborhood for a short time but so far they’ve been doing a great job. Again, I think we need to be a bit nicer to one another and understanding of the policy :) it takes maybe five minutes to get your coffee, it won’t ruin your day if you have to wait outside with your dog so they can run their business...

Do not open a neighborhood coffee shop in DC if you are not dog-friendly. You are NOT a local neighborhood coffee shop. No water bowls outside. No seated area. No umbrella. Nothing.

I stopped by with my dog hoping to grab a quick drink, only to be told (passive aggressively) that I couldn’t come inside to order—not even just to stand at the counter for a moment. It wasn’t crowded, and it was a hot morning (during a heat wave) but instead of being accommodating, they asked me to wait outside and said they’d take my order out there. Like just let me look at the menu on your wall, place my order and go.

If you’re going to brand yourself as a neighborhood spot, it would be nice to see a little more neighborly hospitality. Plenty of other local places are far more welcoming and flexible.

And I don’t care to see a response from management. Just fix yourself. No comment you place underneath is going to...

Amazing coffee. The Jasmine Bloom Iced Latte was amazing, and the perfect amount of sweetness for someone such as myself who typically asks for a pump or two less of syrup at other coffee shops.

The inside space is really small though, especially for the crowd of people that were there this morning. Would love to see some outdoor seating since there seems to be plenty of space (though I’m not sure if it’s theirs).

They also have some loose leaf green/white/oolong tea (in addition to coffee beans, other coffee equipment, Vermont maple syrup, and some other random stuff) for sale so will definitely grab some of that...
