I am from out of town, and I heard that when visiting DC I must have some Mumbo/Mambo chicken. Mumbo chicken is essentially just fried chicken wings tossed in a tangy sweet and spicy sauce. After tasting different kinds of Mumbo chicken, I came to a realization: some places will take the cheap and easy route and mix ketchup, bbq sauce and hot sauce, throw it on some wings, and call it Mumbo Chicken. This is what you don't want. Other places will mix together various different flavors to create a delicious sauce. Wingo’s was that place. Their Mumbo Sauce was an Asian inspired sauce with a tad more heat than the usual, yet not overwhelming. The chicken was crispy and the sauce was impeccable. Do not sell yourself short by buying, what I’m calling, “Knockoff Mumbo Sauce.” Instead just shoot down to Wingo’s and grab some Mumbo Chicken. Even grab a beer and watch the game if you like. Overall this place was great and I highly recommend it to tourists as well...

I'm sitting in the restaurant as I write this review. I'm so disappointed. My whole table ordered the hot honey wings and we all recieved buffalo wings. There is not hint of honey on these wings. I attempted to tell the manager and he just acted like I wasn't telling the truth. Mnd you, I've eaten here several times. He said "that's the way we fook them", instead of admitting they made a mistake. Also, 2 orders of fries were forgotten and sour cream was forgotten off potato skins. Long story short, I'm embarrassed I brought my family here. I saw someone on the way out with hot honey wings and they looked nothing like mines so I know you lied. Never again. I would give zero...

The rating mixed... so please read before judging. The rating is low because delivery was anything but speedy. I was notified at 716pm that the order was out for delivery. My food was delivered at 813pm. Unfortunately, my order was missing one item for which I was charged. Also unfortunate was the fact I paid cash, so I'm out the $$.

Here's where this rating doesn't do the food justice. Even after sitting out an hour (during the delivery process), these wings were still crispy and tasty. I had the honey bbq wings, extra crispy. The fries although a bit soggy still had good flavor.

If I'm back in DC again, I'd try this place again... but probably not...

This Sunday, I took my daughter to Georgetown for a walk and saw this fried chicken shop. I thought it would be delicious from the pictures. Then I asked the waiter what flavor the fried chicken wings in the picture were. They said the picture was new and they didn’t know which one it was. I really didn’t know what to say. Then we ordered a random set meal. My daughter and I thought it was unpalatable. It was really unpalatable. This was the worst fried chicken and fries I had in the United States in the past ten years. Coke was okay, but it was a canned product of Coca-Cola Company and had nothing to do with them.

I love chicken wings. Found this place on a recommendation from a local. I walked well over a mile in the sweltering heat and ate outside. What an experience that was. Sweating not only from the weather but the delicious chicken wings is about as close to a spiritual experience as I’ve gotten. Pictured is the “hot” flavored wings and seasoned fries. I cannot recommend enough. They were amazing. Service was fast and very nice. While I’m not a fan of the ranch I will say the wings don’t need them. They’re excellent without any dipping sauce. If you like wings this place is worth your time and money.

It was my second last day in DC. I wanted wings, good wings. I'd already helped myself to some wings from Hooters a few nights earlier, but I needed something fresh. Something gritty. I looked on Maps and Wingo's was suggested, so I got an uber there. Little did I realise, Wingo's is not a restaraunt, but a takeaway. However, it didn't stop me from destroying my 20 wings on the bench outside. I probably looked miserable and alone, but the wings were all that mattered. The curly fries were good too, though by the 16th wing I was running out of room. Good takeaway, would come again. Thanks!
