Stomp's Burger Joint — Restaurant in Webster

This place is truly inviting and tiktok is what brought us here but gosh, it was not good... the burger patty is so thin, with no flavor... and I got the mushroom temple weed, it was disgusting. The mushrooms were rubbery... and the fries had a texture that made you feel like it had been sitting there, no salt or anything either..... I couldn't finish after the first bite.... I hated that for me. We also didn't know anything battered was not available after 8:30, so we didn't get to try their viral items. My daughters didn't finish their food either, which really says a lot because they were so hungry when we walked in... My daughter also said the bun has a very weird taste, like straight up yeast or something. It needed a toasted bun for sure. The mac and cheese had a weird texture too, like flour? I'm not sure guys. I wanted to love it and hated it. But the service was amazing. I know once I told her about my burger and she said she'd take it off, the manager was very unhappy. I wanted to run out of there. But my kids were eating the free ice cream I asked for, since it was advertised... I kept rushing them because I felt the tension while my family were attempting to finish what they didn't like. I had to edit my review because I saw my bill, I asked her if I could get another side vs the fries and she named a few so we got the mac and cheese, tell me why I just paid $8 for 4 mini corn dogs and 2 more dollars for a side of mac? You're supposed to advise people if there's an uncharge for it or if I'd rather just keep the meal at 7.99, I would NEVER pay 8 bucks for 4 corn dogs lol I would of just kept the fries had I known I'd be paying 10 bucks for my babies food. We eat there so often they've named a salad and a combo after my husband! 😋 We discovered Stomps in the early days of the C-vid lockdown restrictions lifting. Thinking businesses would have the same hours as before, we pulled into the parking lot around 7:45 pm. We double checked the sign and saw it was about 15 minutes before they were closing. So, we headed back towards the car to go elsewhere. (We have both worked in service industry and definitely did not want to be "that customer" that rolls in just before closing.) To our shock and amazement, one of the waitresses actually came out to the parking lot and invited us in. We protested, saying we did not want to hold them up on their closing. She said, "we appreciate that so much and that is why I insist on serving you." Holy cow! I didn't think there was customer service like this outside of that Beauty & the Beast scene! But, you'll find it here. We have been regulars ever since, going a few times a week for our favorite dinner salads and burger combo. Unlike most restaurants in the post lockdown era, the tables, the silverware, the cups, everything is CLEAN as you would expect it to be. The staff are professional and courteous as well. Whether you live close by or are just visiting, you won't be disappointed here. They serve your standard Americana fare with a good kids menu and a lot of yummy sides to choose from. As an independent contractor who visits most of the restaurants in the area from time to time, I get a feel for which restaurants offer good customer service and those that do not. I feel I represent my customer when picking up an order for delivery. I am always polite and usually patient with the staff, and expect to be treated as well as they would treat my customer. I had an order at Stomp's a few days ago which I arrived at exactly the scheduled pick up time, but was told the order would not be ready for another 10 minutes. Usually, this means 10, 15, or maybe 20 minutes or more, and I was busy so declined the order. Walking out the door I was told by the two girls at the counter "ok, bye then" in a sarcastic tone. Later, when I had time to call back and speak to a manager about the rudeness, I was told there was NO manager on duty. At that point I understood the problem. At this point I will not take further orders for delivery, nor will I visit Stomp's as a paying customer. It doesn't matter how great or not the food is if an establishment is lacking in...
