I was really excited to try this place once again because they made a cake for my sister's wedding which I found to be amazing. However, my experience ordering a birthday cake was pretty disappointing. After not getting a response on Instagram, I submitted an inquiry via their Instagram Google Doc link on Friday, October 17th, by which the form stated the request would get processed in 2-4 days time. I waited for 3 days and by Wednesday I hadnt received a response yet. I needed the cake for the 25th so I decided to figure out other ways to reach out. I noticed their contact button on Instagram had a phone number to text so I texted on Wednesday no response. Texted again on Thursday no response again. Then I decided to finally call and did get an answer. The woman on the phone said she would take a look at my request. She texted me back via the same number and required half the deposit. I offered to pay the full amount the next morning to which I got a response about not making the cutoff time and a half deposit needed. It sucks that they expect a customer to follow their policies to T yet they dont follow their own policies. I didnt get a timely response as they promised on their forms and I didnt get anything at least indicating that they were really busy and processing times could be longer. Nothing. I could've inquired with other bakeries to have options had they at least notified me. And the reason I didnt is because they really came through for my family, specifically my sister's wedding cake just last month so i really wanted to give them my business. And it really sucks because I have family all over the Southwest side and seeing a space pop up that claims to be community oriented definitely appeals to my love for the sw side but consistency is everything. It sucks to brushed off like that and not even be giving the grace to pay literally the next day...
Read moreI want to share my experience at Pink Flores bakery & cafe because as much as I value supporting local and Latino-owned businesses, I also believe in being honest. The service during my visit was disappointing. When we came in, the staff didnât greet us or make us feel welcomed. A simple âhelloâ or cheerful attitude goes a long way, especially in hospitality, but it felt like they werenât interested in engaging with customers at all.
The prices were on the higher side, but I could overlook that if the atmosphere and service matched the cost. Unfortunately, the lack of warmth and cooperation from the staff made the visit less enjoyable.
On a bigger note, as members of the Latino community, itâs important for us to support and uplift each other. Especially in times when immigration issues affect so many of our families, I think small businesses like this one could play a stronger role in showing solidarity and uniting with the community, not just focusing on their own success.
I truly hope the café can improve both in customer service and in its connection to the community...
Read moreIâm writing this because I believe others should think twice before trusting PinkFlores Bakery. I pre-ordered well in advance, only to have my order cancelled on THE VERY DAY I was scheduled to pick it up. No warning, no apology just abrupt, last-minute text communication. The owner attempted to make a poor excuse by blaming âopening day being the next dayâ.
That level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable, especially from a business that âafter 8 months â was planning a Sept 7 opening date. then why take on orders the day before a grand opening ? Owning a business is about trust and reliability if they canât uphold basic standards, how can customers rely on them for special occasions?
Pilsen is full of hardworking, established bakeries that actually value their customers. Donât waste your money here try these other local businesses instead : PanaderĂa Nuevo LeĂłn Bittersweet Pastry Shop Kristofferâs...
