We came to this place on a whim after dinner about 2 weeks ago and I have NOT stopped thinking about it since. It’ll just pop into my mind randomly in the middle of a meeting and then I’ll set a mental reminder to leave a review . The service was phenomenal; I was with friends that wanted to test out the majority of the flavors, and the man that was helping was SO very patient and mindful and it really felt like he loved working there, and the attention to detail of every crumb that was placed, the way the ice cream was stacked, the gentle nature of the experience alone is worth going there for. Now, the ice cream itself?? I have no words. I LOVE food and desserts & I’m a type that will try anything once, and this ice cream tops my list of dessert experiences. Just wow. Every. Single. Flavor. If I lived in LA, this would be a problem for me. My only regret was not buying a hat or hoodie while I was there (hoodie design & quality is A+!)....

Read moreI've had Awan many times. So far my favorite is the Wong Mango as I absolutely adore Wong Valencia Pride and Keitt Mangoes. The Harry's Berries flavor is excellent and better (creamier, better flavor, etc) than the Oliboli rendition. I'm surprised Awan had Harry's during the off season as they're extremely hard to come by in January. The Coleman Yuzu flavor is also excellent and very yuzu-y. I am not sure how Awan milked every drop of flavor out of those yuzu because I juiced and zested 10 of Coleman's yuzu to put in a cheesecake and it isn't nearly as yuzu-y. Maybe there is the equivalent of 11 yuzu in every scoop. The valrhona chocolate is good but doesn't have that signature fruity bite that valrhona gran cru manjari has. The decent but not jawdropping flavors were the blue algae lemonade and the Coleman Feijoa. The lemonade was a good lemon ice cream, but I wished for a touch of orange blossom or rose water to add a...
