Took my daughter for lunch. Bartender was also our waitress, but clearly was too busy for the job. She brought my fajitas, and my daughters salad, but no silverware.I kept trying to catch her eye, and finally had to get it myself. My daughter ordered the 3 bundle they advertise( smaller portions, drink, main, dessert, for a smaller price) but was charged full price for separate dishes. Waitress brought the fajitas on the sizzling skillet, but did not bring the plate which I had to request, twice, orthe corn tortillas i ordered with the fajitas, or the guacamole (No sour cream please). Finally she brought the plate, and sour cream after we had waited a significant amount of time. There was never an apology for order mistakes, no plate, no silverware, making us wait, etc. If anything, she seemed put out. Finally when it was time to go, I waved her down and got got her to close out my bill. I was just ready to swipe my card when my daughter pointed out that the bill seemed significantly higher than it should have been. The bill had the total but was not itemized, so I scrolled back through the table-top pay point for our order and found I had been charged for a platter, rather than just an entree, and double meat, ( which I did not want and had not ordered) and my daughter was charged full price for her dishes rather than the discounted 3 bundle. I pointed this out to waitress, who clearly was irritated. She took off a couple dollars but it was still way too high. Iagain pointed out i had not ordered double meat or platter, and that my daughters dessert and drink were supposed to be part of her meal deal. She returned to the bar and spoke loudly to the manager about the troublemakers at table 41, (making it obvious she was talking about us.) Then he came over, asked what our problem was. My daughter and I had both worked in the food service industry and remained polite the entire time, we explained the issue, even acknowledging how busy they, and particularly our waitress was. He was brusque, andcountered with, well, you ate it, what do you expect. I was taken aback and pointed out that I was a senior, and it was far more than I had wanted, or could realistically eat in a sitting, and I had to take over half of it home. Also, we had no idea that they had changed the sizes of what we had ordered. He rolled his eyes, and with bad grace changed our bill acting the whole time like we were"karens" or trying to cheat them when we had been polite and patient the whole time, and none of the mistakes, or poor service were our fault. We will never...
Read moreSo many things to write about. First of all, it was a busy Saturday night. We get that. But when we came into the restaurant and were put on the waiting list, I noticed a table at the bar that needed to be bussed and asked if we could sit there. They said that table was put into the rotation and we were 11th in line, so they couldn't give us that table. I said ok. 30 minutes later when we came in, that table was clean, but still empty and they asked if they could sit us there. We said yes.
Our waiter was also the bartender for the restaurant. He was so slow!! He was looking after 5 tables and he was making drinks for people. He was personable, but I specifically asked for my salad to be with no croutons and to have the rice and beans on the side. The beans were on the side, but the rice wasn't and my salad had lots and lots of croutons. He never refilled our water cups. He told us 3 times that our food would be done soon. He was slow to get things for us. All in all the service was very slow - the waiter, the wait for the table, the food to get to our table and so on.
Just after we ordered, I went to the bathroom. Eww!! It was so gross!! There were paper towels piled up by the trash can, which was annoying. There were two garbage cans there and one was full and the other wasn't. People should be respectful and put the trash in the other one rather than let it pile up on the floor. There was also toilet paper on the floor and the dispensers were broken and on the floors. The sinks looked like someone had thrown up in them or something. They were yucky. Walking back to my table, I noticed that the floor in the kitchen and the whole restaurant was just filthy. I almost wanted to leave. I told the to go attendant that the bathroom was dirty and they thanked me and told me that they would take care of it. I was curious if they would, so I went back again before we left. They had cleaned up the paper towels, and some of the toilet paper on the floor, but not all. I took pictures. The restaurant floor was still messy, though.
The food was okay. I ordered the shrimp fajitas and they had way too many green peppers, which I don't like, so I picked them out. The shrimp was spicy and I really liked that.My husband got the smokehouse combo. What I tried tasted good, but everything lacked a bit of salt. But was still good.
Will we go back to Chili's? Maybe. But we won't ever go back to that location. It just felt like it was a chaotic place with poor execution and horrible...
Read moreWe have been regulars to this restaurant chain for years, and have never had such a terrible experience ANYWHERE as we had tonight. I chose to come here for my birthday dinner. We waited 15-20 minutes to be seated, which wasn't terrible, but waited until 10 to even be greeted by our servers. They took another 5 minutes to bring our drinks and chips after we ordered them. They told us if we participated in their current promotion we would get chips and salsa free. We did the requested items but never got the email to redeem the free item and later had to have them removed from our check, as well as a charge for games we never played on their card reader. We finished the first basket of chips and sat with no food or drinks or ANY attention from our servers for at least 10 minutes. They finally brought a second basket of chips and some refills. The chips were stale and soggy and gross, but we were hungry. We waited again for a very long time for our food, and when our server brought our plates she actually asked me to cut into my steak to make sure it hadn't over cooked as it had been sitting under the heat lamp for SO long. Both of our meals were just horrible. He got the fajita trio. The meat was bland and flavorless. The rice was crunchy. The side of beans was dry and crusty. The cheese for toppings was crunchy and dry, and the guacamole was turning brown. I got a ribeye steak that was 85% fat and inedible, and the parts that were actually meat were not consistent with how they were cooked. Some raw, some well done. The meat was room temperature and had no flavor. The "loaded" mashed potatoes were just instant potatoes with a little cheese melted on top and a few crumbles of bacon and chives. They also were bland and after a few bites I couldn't eat them anymore. The broccoli was unavailable due to a recall, so I chose asparagus instead. The flavor was better than anything else on my plate, but it was wilted and old and stale. Our servers seemed more concerned with giving us boxes for the food we weren't eating than they were keeping up with drinks or anything else. After they left a few on the table they disappeared a long time again and we had to wait another long time to fix our check so we could pay and leave. We didn't take any of our food or chips home with us. This was honestly the biggest waste of $70 and the most disappointing birthday dinner EVER. Bad enough we won't...
