well, we were looking forward to trying this steakhouse in west palm beach. We were a party of 4. I would’ve liked to have given four or five stars because the place is very attractive but I have to be honest about our experience. Especially for the prices they charge. First of all, we went to the bar to have a cocktail before our table was ready, so please do not expect to have a seat or for your lady to seat because basically it’s standing at the bar only. There are some barstools, but people are reserved for eating moving along to our dining experience and I always try and keep it positive and upbeat as most of us do because we work hard and we look forward to a wonderful dining experience. The service was amazing. The waiters were attentive, and I have to applaud them for their hard work and effort , we ordered the clams Genovese appetizer, which was surprisingly one of the best I’ve ever had. It was delicious. This is where everything else sort of fell apart. My boyfriend ordered a bone in ribeye not only did it come yo the table cool, but it was chewy and fatty. He did not say anything about it until I started eating my diver scallops, which looked amazing but we’re also cold/cool , the hash browns could’ve been good, but they were also cool. Our friends ordered the beef Wellington they shared their entree and said it was very good and the temperature of their beef Wellington was fine. My boyfriend sent back his steak to have it heated up but never complained about the fact that it was chewy. He said it was one of the worst ribeyes he’s had , my diver scallops came back and they were hot as they should’ve been to begin with but at that point I kind of lost my appetite. Hashbrowns came back not a new orde, the same order just heated up. I hardly ate them again as a little bit of a turn off , when you’re paying these high prices you expect the food to come to your table hot. There is definitely a disconnect with the runners or I have no idea what else the issue could be, but it was not good when I was leaving I said good night to the hostess who asked me how everything was and I shared with her my experience. She smiled and said, thank you that’s good to hear. I don’t think she really had a clue about the situation . We will not be back again, because not only was the food cold, but the noise level is very very high. If you want to have a conversation without screaming , it is very difficult to do so, without screaming...
Read moreMY INITIAL REVIEW: "The food was delicious, but the service and managers were extremely rude. We came to celebrate our friend's birthday. First, it took them an hour to get us seated even though we had a reservation. We waited for the food for another hour or so, and the waiter forgot to include my order. So, while all of my 10 friends were eating I had to wait for another 20 min. What's more, the waiter never apologized and said "mistakes happen!" Then offered that I cancel the order (seriously!?) What did I go to dinner for, then? Watch my friends eat? When we asked if they can split the check, the waiter didn't want to deal with it and said "figure it out". When my friend asked the manager to help solve the issue, the manager said "are you drunk?" No one was drunk because it took them more than an hour per drink to bring out. Instead of simply splitting the check (which they eventually did with tons of mistakes) and helping solve this very simple problem, the manager escalated, never apologized, and called the police to escort us out. This was beyond unacceptable! We are locals, and we frequent many local restaurants, but we will never go back to Harry's and don't recommend to anyone. I want to emphasize once again that the food was delicious, which is sad because it's unfair to the cooking team that the hospitality team undermined them this way!"
AN UPDATE: I rarely give second chances to restaurants that disappoint, but decided to make an exception for Harry's—and I'm glad I did! I received an invitation to come back. The owner personally intervened and took a hands-on approach to ensure that my friends and I receive a very different kind of experience. Rude staff were shown the door, and the renewed focus on customer service was clear.
The transformation is remarkable, with the front-of-house team now doing justice to the 5-star food coming out of the kitchen. If my initial review was a warning to stay away, consider this an enthusiastic invitation to give Harry's another try. It has rapidly climbed the ranks to become one of my favorite...
Read moreA Nightmare Experience: Terrible Service and Unbelievable Rudeness
My recent visit to Harry's was nothing short of a nightmare. I am still in disbelief at the appalling treatment my party and I received from both the waiter and the manager. It is truly disheartening to encounter such incompetence and rudeness in the hospitality industry.
To begin with, despite having a reservation, it took an eternity to be seated. The overall service was painfully slow, and it took an astonishing 30 minutes just to bring a bottle of prosecco to our table. Even worse, when it was finally brought over, the bottle had already been opened, and the staff carelessly placed it on the table without a word of apology or explanation.
The incompetence continued when we requested to split the check. At first, the staff refused, but after persistent insistence, they reluctantly agreed. However, the mistakes kept piling up, with numerous errors in the bill. It was a frustrating ordeal having to correct their repeated blunders.
To add insult to injury, after we had paid the bill and even left tip, the staff had the audacity to call the police to escort us out. As we were being escorted, the waiters were smirking and clapping. Such behavior is utterly unacceptable and unprofessional.
This experience was not just a poor one; it was an absolute nightmare. I cannot fathom how these individuals are employed in the hospitality field. It is a disgrace to witness such incompetence and rudeness in what should have been a memorable birthday celebration. The restaurant management should be ashamed of allowing such behavior to occur.
I strongly advise against visiting Harry's. The lack of professionalism, the extreme rudeness, and the overall nightmarish experience make it a place to avoid at all costs. It is a true shame that a restaurant with potential has allowed its staff to ruin what could have been a pleasant...
