1 sample of ice cream per person.. That’s insane especially when a kids cup is $5.00 pre-tax. My wife said her ice cream was not good. We won’t be back especially after Lora S’s response from Yelp. I recommend going to the other ice cream shops in the area. See the owners reply to my review below and determine if this is a place you want to support:
Lora S from Yelp: “Kids cup are made for kids not for adults ,l wonder how many starts would've you give me if I didn't give any samples ,there is no too many free stuff that people give nowadays. Very easy to go on all the websites and put easy one star,l wish you didn't come into my business at all ,l don't relay on customers like you at all .”
Lora S. on Google: "David Hoffman is harassing me on all the social media to post one star reviews and try to ruin our reputation for a hard working owned family business,we are very transparent all our prices are posted on several places and he was told we provide one FREE sample per person ,if you didn’t agree with that you had the option to leave, not to mention that you didn’t said nothing about the quality of the product until I answered you,it’s Montana made ice cream very well known in the area since 1912 for their quality ,I think people are smart and they will see that your review doesn’t have any value, for my free sample you are rewarding me with one star this is insane .This is not Alabama , it’s remote area when the cost of leaving is more expensive "
My responses to both: I’m not harassing you. I post a review for all businesses I visit on all available platforms. I’m just pointing out my experience with your business which has been made much worse by your unprofessional responses. Telling me you don’t need customers like me and studying my profile to figure out that I’m from Alabama is unacceptable. Please leave your responses up. They say more than my...
Read moreCustomer service and courtesy sucks(the guy at the counter).
Their policy is “only one sample for each person” and “strictly for each person”. You will be watched like a hawk to ensure you don’t share the sample to make a choice. No request will be honored in a polite way. We got an amazing response - “Either you buy or you walkout”.
FYI - our intentions were clear from the outset to make the right choice and were keen on buying the ice cream. we tried only 2 samples though we were a party of 4, and end up buying 4 ice creams and it tasted great.
Just in case if you don’t get to make a choice - we tried the huckleberry fudge on a waffle cone.
Response to owner - the question was never about the policy it’s about the way you treat your customer and convey your policies. I just realized you counted everyone in the party regardless of whether they were lining up for sample or not.
And your response today when my wife came in to pick an ice cream and was turned back, speaks volumes of the kind of service we could expect.
If you are asked to walk out just for asking not all but just one more sample, as a customer I have all the right to express my disappointment(in your language yelling). Also to clarify - other than me and my kid, no one else was lining up for sample(that too not more than one).
Facts: the quality of ice cream is great, same reflected in the review. We returning to the same place, testifies the quality of the ice cream. The service reflects what is rated here in the review as we were turned back without ice...
Read moreI came here today to buy a bagel for my son, as he had a stomach upset, we didn't wanna buy ice cream. So instead of standing in the ice cream line, I waited at the checkout. The guy at the cashier said he had to serve the ice cream buyers first because they were before me, that’s no problem and I totally understood. But after I had waited for two customers, a boy came in and went to choose ice cream. The guy just skipped me and went to service the boy. I told him he was actually behind me, but the guy was so convinced that I was wrong, he rudely asked me if I would bet him $5,000 to watch the camera , and then he said things like I could go to Walmart if I don’t wanna buy ice cream... I ended up leaving without buying anything... I know it's a family operated business and you have no worries about getting fired, but that doesn't mean service quality is not necessary. Such a rude and money-driven attitude is a shame on your business. I'm sure you will reply and insist that the boy was before me, it doesn't matter to me anyways, your attitude already determines...
