Came in for dinner two times. Large salad bar with several choices and two soups. The service was great. Sam, my server was wonderful. Always checking to make sure my drink was full and food was good. The food was delicious, hot, and mine came out quickly! A person could get plenty full just eating one trip to the salad bar. I had the hot roast beef dinner, which wasn't too bad. Just off the street, lots of shops and a candy store as you leave and enter. I went to dinner later and had to wait about 10 minutes or so. All of the tourists are coming back from the park. Good place to eat. I highly recommend you. You won't go wrong. Update 07/22/2025 Back again for great food. What's nice about this place is that it is a family owned restaurant and has homemade soups daily. The salad bar is always stocked, and there are plenty of choices to choose from so you won't go hungry. The menu is quite large and the servings are good size.

I came in around 3 on a Saturday to my surprise it wasn't busy. We were seated quickly, our server was pleasant and very helpful. They had all the comfort heart warming foods on the menu. I wanted to try the bison burger but went with the outpost burger since the server mentioned that bison is a little more dry. I switched my fries for onion rings and was shocked at the size of the burger. Each patty was already thick to begin with and two of then was definitely a mouth full but that thick cut bacon was just perfect... I probably only ate about half but my kids enjoyed trying to take a full bite at it. I can barely open wide enough to grab a bite. The country fried steak was fabulous the green beans weren't soggy still crunchy.

First off I want to start off by saying that the food I ate tasted good but I have major issues with this place. First problem is on the kids meals which states kids refills cost extra. This makes me feel like they are just a greedy company which is proven by the other issue. If I were to share a meal they would charge me 3 additional dollars. Which made me ask myself why should I pay more for the same amount of food. Both the above comments share my hatred for a greedy company. I do have an issue with other aspects. The salad bar has zero labels on anything so you have to guess at what anything is. In summary I would not go here ever again because I do not like to support bad morals and greed. But the food tastes good.

Had dinner here after reading reviews. Was seated promptly and greeted by very young, waitress. We asked about dinner special and she did not know what it was. She left to find out and came back telling us it was fried taco but she didn’t know how it was prepared. We ordered spaghetti and 2,fish and chips. The spaghetti dinner came with salad bar. The salad bar greens were fresh but the other items were gross. They were crusted over on the edges and appeared to have been there for several days without being stirred or refreshed. Fruit was canned. Our meals came and the spaghetti plate was swimming in water. I had to pour it off into my salad plate. The meat sauce was tasty , but barely there! There was probably 1/4 cup of sauce on the entire plate of noodles. The waitress did not come back for over 20 minutes or I would have sent it back. When she finally came around to say- everything good? I told her no! She left and another waitress came and I told her and she asked if I wanted more sauce. I said it was too late , since my family was done eating, I told her I didn’t expect to pay for that dinner. She said she would have to speak with the manager. The next thing we know is the first waitress is bringing us the check with all three dinners on there! My husband goes up to the checkout stand to pay where the 2nd waitress was and asked her if she was going to take the meal off the check. She said —- ummmmm ok. AVOID THIS RESTAURANT!!!! Terrible customer...

I rarely if ever write reviews, but this experience had me seeing red. Not only did this place have horrible food, but the server was rude and and terribly unprofessional. After a long day at Yellowstone, we stopped here to have a bite to eat, I ordered the turkey dinner, the turkey is advertised as “tender” and it’s anything but that. It tasted like it was reheated and it was dry. The gravy was bland and not flavorful at all. The carrots needed some seasoning and the mashed potatoes tasted boxed. The dinner was supposed to come with a roll but no rolls were brought to the table. To be fair the salad bar was fresh and the the dressing was good. When we brought this to the servers attention, our complaint about the food was not taken well. When we offered to pay for half because I did eat the salad but the rest of the food was horrible, she rolled her eyes, mumbled something about everyone wanting their meal comped. She took our receipt said she would speak to the manager and then came back, slapped the receipt on the table and said, “and that’s your final ticket”. 😳 The manager never came out to speak to us, our plates were hardly touched and they took 50% off my plate and charged us $2.50 for a soda that was suppose to be included with a kid’s meal. After that scene, complaining about the extra soda charge seemed irrelevant, we just wanted to leave. Needless to say, we will...

We ate at the Outpost restaurant today and it just wasn't good at all. My child got the spaghetti with meat sauce and it was extremely bland and just full of tomatoes, barely any meat. I ordered the fresh dip and it was extremely salty. The fries were really salty as well. I asked for ranch for my fries. I was not told that they were going to charge me a dollar for a very small side of ranch. The little plastic container was only half full. Our server was just OK. I don't feel like he really cared. The food was way overpriced. I have eaten here several times over the years but this year it was just plain awful. Between the bad food, lack of service, and charging me a dollar for a half small plastic container of ranch, we will not be returning to this place. It's sad as this was a special place to my family. They have gone down hill and lost what's special about them. Unfortunately, I have to say don't waste your money here. There is a much better and less expensive restaurant right down the way. The only reason I even gave the atmosphere 3 stars is because of nostalgia from better past memories I have had here.

The last thing I'll add is that we tried to eat hear a couple of afternoons ago but the door was locked. There were some people inside eating but we couldn't get in. So we made a special trip back to this restaurant. I shouldn't have wasted my time and money making...
