Wow what a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT this restaurant was! I have no idea how it has a 4.8 rating. 👎🏻
After a long day of sight seeing, hiking and driving in Yellowstone we were all craving burgers and this restaurant looked good and had a good rating so we decided to try it.
After we ordered I realized that we had forgotten to tell the waitress that we wanted our burgers cooked to medium. I was told they only cook them one temperature and there was no choice.
That was the first red flag, what burger place doesn't allow the customers to decide what temperature and how they want their burgers cooked?! This one apparently.
The second red flag was the place was dead and our burgers took a long time to come out.
Both the burgers and fries were very cold so I assume they sat around for awhile, which would also explain the long wait.
Not only were the burgers and fries cold but rhe burgers were totally overcooked and gross. I guess if you like charcoal brickette burgers you might like this place.
We ate them because we were so hungry and didn't want to wait for new ones plus I don't like to complain but on this I felt I had to.
After being charged almost $100 for 3 burgers and 2 drinks with a surprise credit card fee, for cold and really mediocre burgers I decided to say something to the owner. Yes I should have said something right away but it was late and we were all hungry & tired and just wanted to leave this establishment.
In fairness to the owner, she was nice, apologized and said that's not how they do things there.
Maybe they just had a bad night but for $20 burgers you expect better quality than that, cannot...
Read moreCame here for my birthday dinner. The reviews and food pictures looked great. We asked our server about the special Teddy burger which they change weekly (I think) well, our server forgot to mention a MAJOR ingredient on the burger, JAM, sweet Jam that goes on a pb&j! Now my husband is not a sweet savory guy & as soon as she put the burger on the table I already knew this was NOT his kind of burger. If she had mentioned JAM, jelly, preserves he would have NEVER wasted their time to order it. She did have an opportunity to tell us the correct ingredient list, as she was going inside to grab our drinks before we ordered. I was not rude to the server, but I did tell her that she did not mention this ingredient & to please have the kitchen take it off. She took the burger back & my burger just sat there for 10mins until his was done.
I think there should be a note or something on each table stating what the Teddy special is for that week.. because OMG what if he was allergic to an ingredient that she forgot. Not cool.
The food is expensive! $60 for 2 burgers & 2 beers. Neither of which will blow you away. The fries must have been fried in old oil, because they had a burnt taste. From pictures and my experience the buns are inconsistent. I was expecting the shiny brioche bun, but our bun was not that, it was more of a dry light brown everyday bun.
No discount for my burger getting cold while we waited on his.
No one came by to ask us if everything was okay once the mishap was corrected, no apology or acknowledgement on her behalf of the...
Read moreOutstanding Burgers and Brats restaurant. Great atmosphere, very friendly staff. We ordered The American and The Commissioner so that we could split them. Burgers were EXCELLENT! The beef is fresh and flavorful on its own. Noticeably different (better) than what we are used to. The brioche bun is a perfect match. Soft and flavorful, but the perfect texture to match the burger and toppings. The bacon has a wonderful flavor and is a subtle compliment to the beef. SO, The Commissioner. What seems like a whacky addition of creamy peanut butter on a burger, with Huckleberry dipping sauce, is actually VERY delicious. Our server, Kaden, was really awesome. He suggested this and we thanked him repeatedly. Oh! And each burger came with a generous basket of crispy, tasty fries. (pro tip… ask for a side of “Bully Sauce” for dipping ) Even though we didn’t finish our fries, the burgers were generous and we were stuffed. At the same time The Constable sounded delicious, so we got it to go. It was GREAT! The food seems a bit pricey at first, but when you look at the quality and quantity, it is very reasonable. You might pay half as much at McDonald’s, but your taste buds would be crying! The owner stopped by to chat a few times, which was really appreciated. He’s a very personable, high energy and genuine guy with tons of knowledge about the area.
Our only regret is that we are only here for a day and won’t be able to sample more of the menu!
If you are in West Yellowstone this is a MUST for...
