I've been holding off on reviewing this place because I've ate here 5 time over the past month and every time I had a thought that I may need to come back to fully get the experience. So here it is, my review of Yokohama Ramen Joint. Firstly, Jesus Lord Almighty this is some of the best food in Wichita. Scratch that. This is my favorite place to eat in Wichita, and in my opinion, the best place to eat in Wichita. The atmosphere here is fantastic. Really sets the Japanese vibe quite well. Small dive shop with little seating, lots of photos, and cool art all around. The owner and staff are unbelievably friendly and the service is great. Enough of that. Now the food. Oh the food. If I could describe it in one word, it's comforting. This place makes ramen noodles that reminds me of being at home, my mom making me some ramen to eat when I was sick. This takes comfort food to a whole new level. It's like you can taste the passion of the chef in his work, each bowl an explosion of flavor and richness. Every spoonful of broth perfectly balanced. The noodles perfectly soft and slightly chewy. The meats always cooked to perfection with juicy pork belly, savory chicken, and soft beef tongue. Sweet, salty, sour, bitter, tangy. Everything about this place screams umami. I couldn't think of a better place to eat in the Metro.
To Yokohama, thank you. You have brought me great joy in your food and in your service and for that I am grateful. You've shown a kid from the heartland that ramen isn't just something that you buy from Walmart, and that it can be not only beautiful in it's presentation, but astoundingly delicious. Thank you for being passionate in what you do. Good food makes people happier, and happy people are infectious in their joy. Sooner or later you'll realize that a good restaurant like yourself can change people's lives and you'll make the world a better place because of it. 10/10. You deserve it. And I DEFINITELY would eat here again. (BTTM Ramen, seaweed salad, agadashi tofu, Matcha Bubble Tea. If you can't think of what you want, order this. You'll...

Read moreThe boba wasn't what i had in mind "For the best boba in town". Not. Maybe if it was frozen for the matcha green tea. I also had the Black garlic ramen. Now they did perfect with the broth, however the pork had fat that was seasonless and too big of slices so it wasnt easy to eat with the ramen. The ramen was cooked perfect, the mushrooms were great loved how they were sliced, wish the seaweed and pork was in strips as well. The egg was delicous as well. All around i would eat it again the flavor that was there paired well to me bc i love garlic like i do. I think someone who was new to it wouldnt like it though bc it was bland otherwise. Ill try it next time w chicken. I also shared an appetizer spicy beef gyoza that deserves 10 stars that is the most delicous fried dumplings! The sauce, the meat, was so delicious im addicted. My mouth is watering thinking about it. My partner had the tonkatsu/ chicken katsu bowl the fried rice was super delicious perfectly cooked and the grilled onions we done perfect as well very savory. However, the fried chicken just needed a bit more salt or flavor it was bland as well as the shrimp but all around it was a delicious flavor that paired well together and still all of it tasted clean and fresh just needed a bit o flavor on the meats. Now i will go back and try another item. The atmosphere felt like a small shop that was outside but inside. Loved the drawing because who doesnt like anime! And the t-shirts are so cute! Its a bit small for all the business foot traffic and if you dont eat inside theres no real waiting area, you feel like you are in the way. Besides all that the service was great and those ladies were very kind and they wore masks and sat everyone 6 feet apart. I am...
