This is a two-part review.
We initially stopped at Monk's upon our arrival at Wilderness. The food was mediocre, but the staff was friendly, and they took our allergies very seriously. I was impressed by their dedication to safety. The atmosphere was fun, and overall the meal was fine.
A few nights into our stay, my husband and I decided to go to Monk's to watch the Gold Cup semi-final game. This was the only reason we were going. We told the hostess this upon arrival, and she assured us we could watch it at the bar. As soon as we sat at the bar, we informed the female bartender we wanted to watch the soccer game. She again assured us we could. The male bartender, Matt, said it was halftime, but the game would be on. I ordered a drink and then immediately went to the restroom. When I returned, my husband was no longer at the bar, and let me know we were leaving. The game was on, but it was on the tiny corner screen, a screen you could hardly see. Matt told my husband, "Brewers always go on the big screen!". We aren't local and I had no idea who the Brewer's even were. We proceed to walk toward the exit, and Matt shouts at us, asking if we were going to pay for the drink (which I was never served). We leave the building, and Matt CHASES us. He literally chases us down, outside the building. Again he asks about the drink and is harassing us. I tell him the truth, that I was never served a drink. We are then joined by a manager who tries to take control od the situation. It was a huge scene, and honestly very embarrassing. We walked back to the main hotel and caught the shuttle back to our condo. It was an absolute fiasco, and I have never had an experience similar to this. I have never been treated in this way by...
Read moreAs a longtime local and loyal Monks VIP member, I’ve been coming here for years with my family. We know many of the staff by name and have always appreciated the great service and food. Today, unfortunately, was a completely different experience — thanks to the bar manager, Rob Bebe.
We came in as a small group of 3 and were kindly offered a larger 6-top near the bar by our server. I declined, not wanting to take up a bigger table, and asked to wait for a smaller one that was about to open. The staff was great and accommodating — until Rob waddled over, uninvited, and snapped, “You can’t sit there, that’s for a bigger table,” before immediately turning around and walking off.
No one else was waiting. He assumed, wrongly, and addressed us rudely without even bothering to ask what we were doing. When I later approached him for clarification, he tried to cover it up by claiming he didn’t want us “standing there.” The behavior was dismissive, unprofessional, and just plain unnecessary.
We made the decision to leave — and told him so — to which he barely responded, cut me off mid-sentence, and again walked away. No apology, no concern. Just complete indifference. You could visibly tell the staff was uncomfortable with how he handled it.
It’s frustrating that someone like Rob is the face of management in a place that’s built on community and hospitality. One person can ruin years of loyalty with behavior like this — and today, he did.
We love Monks, but if this is the tone leadership is setting, it might be time to rethink where we bring...

I never take the time to write reviews, but started to realize that other reviews really help me out.
From the start when I called to ask about a Glutenfree Menu, I was connected to the manager who was knowledgeable and very professional, informing me that
He then said that as soon as I get there he would personally make sure all is well.
We were immediately seated and between the manager and my Waiter I felt very well taken care of. All my questions and concerns were addressed and never sneered at.
On top of that the food was really good. And the price matched. I had a Bacon cheeseburger with a glutenfree bun (the best bun ever- I dont know how they did ot but it felt almost like eating a normal bun) and a side salad with oil and lemon dressing.
I also tried their Gf Brownie a la mode and it was amazing :) My friends loved their food as well.
Definitely check them out! I feel amazing still and it had been hours since dinner.
the only thing for me would be: id like other sided than just salads. Maybe Kettle cooked chips? ok n single serve bags? or baked potatoes ^~^ I don't love salads personally, but thst is a small improvement to be honest.
100% celiac approved from my...
