The Search For the First Fall Colors in Wisconsin! There are very few things we enjoy more than just spontaneously hopping in the car and exploring Wisconsin. We started our day with coffee at Bella Goose Coffee. Then we stopped for lunch Monk’s. I've been to a lot of Monk's locations throughout Wisconsin, but my personal favorite is the historic downtown Wisconsin Dells location that's been around for the past 70 years. There's a ton of classic Wisconsin Badgers memorabilia and it's one of my all time favorite places to get a Buffalo Chicken Wrap. Mike got the "Monster Burger" which is a 1/2 pound burger topped with bacon, mushrooms, Wisconsin cheddar, Swiss cheese, pickles, Monk’s special sauce, lettuce and tomato. Mike also got a great spicy loaded bloody mary! Next up was Devil's Lake State Park. We try to visit the park once every Fall and the colors and hiking never . . . #wi #wisconsin #wisconsintravel #travelwi #travelwisconsin #discoverwisconsin #discoverwi #wisconsinphotography #outwigo #onlyinwisconsin #wisco #wisconsindells #midwestmom #midwestmoment #wisconsinmom #midwestliving #explorewisconsin #wisconsinblogger #chicagoblogger #midwestblogger #supperclub

We picked this place totally at random. We were all hungry and decided to pop in. Our server was awesome and food was hot and fresh! We ordered appetizers first (fried pickle spears, cauliflower bites, and loaded cheese fried) and they came out quickly and were hot! Our entrees were really good. I asked our server which was better--the pulled pork or the brisket sandwich. She hesitated but landed on the brisket. Our food came out and I took a bite or two out of mine and thought it was pulled pork. The flavor was amazing but it had the look and feel of pulled pork. She comes back around to check on us and I told her I ordered the brisket and not pulled pork. She kind of rolls her eyes, as in, those jokers in the kitchen lol. She apologizes and says she'll be back with a new sandwich. Came back with the chef and he explained it is indeed the brisket--it is just THAT tender they are able to serve it like pulled pork. Furthermore, he offered to bring me a sample of their pulled pork so I could compare. I took him up on it and he returned with a little cup of it. It too was amazing--and it definitely was pork and what I had was definitely beef (brisket). All in all, their service was amazing, their communication was amazing, and their food was amazing. I highly recommend!

Monk's Bar & Grill: A Lively Badger Haven 4 out of 5 stars Monk's Bar & Grill truly delivered on a Saturday afternoon. With the Badger game on and the "Wo Zha Wa" end-of-summer festival in full swing, the atmosphere was electric and reminiscent of a classic Madison bar scene. The energy was palpable, making for an exciting and vibrant experience. The food was a highlight, exceeding expectations for a busy bar and grill. While I didn't specify what I ordered, the quality was clearly good enough to leave a positive impression. If you're a Badger fan looking for a place to catch the game and soak up some classic Wisconsin atmosphere, Monk's is a must-stop. The busy energy, coupled with the great food, makes it a perfect spot to celebrate a game day or enjoy a local event. Things to note: Expect a crowd, especially during major events. The atmosphere is lively, which might not be ideal for everyone looking for a more relaxed experience. Overall: A fantastic place to experience the heart of Badger fandom with good food and an electric atmosphere. Highly recommended for any Badger fan visiting or living in the area.

Heard good things but it was average at best. Ordered Curds to start and I got some good chunks but a lot of little unedible pieces that should never have made it on to the plate. For dinner, I ordered the Monster burger. Two patties, cheddar and Swiss, mushrooms, let, tom, and their signature sauce which I got on the side. The burger was huge but it wasn't great. Very greasy and the bun just fell apart because of it. Bacon was weird; about 3 whole pieces all together but some were hard and crispy and the rest were soft and barely cooked. The burger sauce was thousand island with extra mayo and additional spices. The tomato was like cardboard. All in all, average. The burger comes with chips for $17.99, but for extra, you can get fries, which it did do. Just like the rest of the food, they were nothing special. Beer battered fries you can get from any food service distributor anywhere. Service was decent and friendly. All in all, Culver's is right down the road and a way better option for quality and expense.

I've been a customer for years and always look forward to my next visit. The burgers are phenomenal, especially the Monster Burger. Hands down the best burgers in Wisconsin. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. The only thing I'm going complain about is today's experience. I took my parents out to eat and everything was going well. After demolishing the Monster Burger within minutes, the waiter decided to clean up my area and soiled my sweatshirt and pant leg full of grease. I understand, mistakes happen but the waiter didn't even acknowledge what she did. She was in such a hurry for nothing. Now, I normally wouldn't be upset about this but I decided to wear my great grandfather's favorite sweatshirt and I doubt I'll be able to remove these grease stains. Now, I'll probably have to Bill Belichick this son of a gun. I'm looking forward to my next visit but I'll probably wear some shop sweatshirt I have laying around the house next time, just incase I have another greasy experience.

After looking at my receipt from lunch, I have come back to take away stars from my original review. The menu made it clear that Wisconsin Cheddar was an additional $1 charge and I was fine with that. What I DIDN'T know was that I would be charged an additional 25 cents for lettuce and 25 cents for tomatoes on my cheeseburger. I guess the grilled onions were free or they forgot to add an upcharge. I really dislike sneaky charges. If the cheeseburger had been listed in the menu with a price that was 50 cents more, I would still have purchased it. If you eat here, make absolutely sure that you know what is an extra charge and what is included. Original review follows: After walking around shopping, we stopped in for lunch. My husband and I split a half order of cheese curds and split a cheeseburger with Wisconsin cheddar. The kitchen cut the burger in half for us - without us even asking. The food was good and the staff was friendly.
