Although Ive been to many Joe's Bar & Grill, today was the first time stopping by this location in Woburn. It is conveniently located right off the highway, barely 20 minutes from Boston, among many other restaurants and shops. When first entering this location with my fiance & our two kids I actually asked the hostess if this was the correct place because it looked more like a fine dining restaurant than any American Bar & Grill I've been too. Even the restrooms reaked of elegance. I was a bit apprehensive with having a 2 year old & an 8 year old in a place this sleek but to my amazement most of the other guests there were families with young children too. Our waitress was a very patient & kind older woman who knew the menu inside & out. The food was the best part. I had Baja Fish Tacos and typically I'm not a fish taco person but boy were they the best I have ever and I'm a big traveler/foodie. I loved that they also had more than just crayons and coloring pages to keep the kids occupied. The whole atmosphere was great. I gladly will be...
Read moreI had dinner here last night. Strangely, the house salad was my favorite part of the meal. It was amazing with fresh ingredients and a homemade honey mustard, though a bit pricey for a small salad. The filet I had was slightly overcooked (M instead of MR), but I was offered ample opportunity to send it back and was a good cut of meat. The chocolate bread pudding was mediocre and not very chocolatey. My manhattans were served in personal shakers which is a nice effect, but actually waters down the drink so I didn't need that.
We went early, so there were no crowds. The service was fantastic, our waiter was genuinely good, not just saying his lines and the food was well-timed.
The decor was dark wood library feel, so definitely not your trendy type of place. More of a steak, cognac, and cigar...
Read moreWe stopped in for the first time as an alternative to the 99. I was flabbergasted by the prices for such a generic menu. No real signature dishes and unreasonably expensive. $16 for a Cobb salad with no meat. $5 more to add chicken. Everything on the menu was like that. Almost $20 for chicken, broccoli, and ziti. It took so long for the server to come to the table that I had enough time to get mad about the prices and we actually ended up leaving without eating there.
ALSO - I originally posted this review on Yelp. They complained about it and had it removed. It was initially exclusive to Yelp, but since they've decided to try to censure me, I've now posted it multiple places for a...
