I had the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant tonight. I took my family to eat and we decided on Captain D's. We ordered (receipt time was 8:07pm) and sat down. After 35 minutes of waiting on my food (8:42pm), and asking about it many times, I wanted my money back. The manager at first refused saying he couldn't do it since I used a card and it was over 15 minutes ago. I insisted and he said he would have to make a phone call to Tennessee and would be right back. Next thing I knew he was in the Kitchen cooking. I asked about my refund and he said he was waiting on call back. I stood there for about 10 more minutes and asked him again. He said I would just have to wait. I asked for a copy of my receipt back, he took it originally when I wanted my money back. He pointed to a cashier that had nothing to do with any of this and said she has it. He basically now was refusing to give me my receipt or money back. I finally after several minutes of going back and forth with him got my receipt back. By this time it was exactly 9:07 (1 hour since I had ordered) and still didn't have a refund and had to fight over my receipt (and was still hungry) I gave up and left without my $30.24. There were several others who were waiting just as long. One of the lady's upfront kept going out front to smoke and the other told me and another customer that she "never eats here when she is in a hurry as the food always takes too long to come up". The lady in the drive thru came over and tried making excuses for the manager by saying this is the worst run business and he is doing the best he can.
I don't understand several things. 1. Why it was taking over 35 minutes for food (not sure how long it would have taken as I asked for my money back at 35 minutes). 2. why I wasn't immediately given my money back 3. Why a receipt was held hostage 4. If they couldn't refund on the card used, why cash wasn't offered after an hour. 5. The general attitude of all the employees about the process. I heard more than once them say to customers asking about their food that others had been waiting longer.

Trying to reduce salt intake. Someone told me that Captain D's will prepare your fish wo seasoning. So I tried it. This meal was TAKEOUT.
I got the whitefish grilled wo seasoning, My two sides were broccoli and coleslaw. The platter automatically comes with rice.
My meal came out hot! Tasted fresh. Coleslaw was crunchy and had just the right amount of dressing. Didn't taste like a vinegar based slaw. The broccoli was steamed and had some seasoning on it, not too much. Also came with soft bread. Some meals come with hush puppies. Rice was how it is supposed to be. Great meal out when on the run.
I was very pleased. BUT ....
It seem that depending on location some sides will be saltier than others. Yesterday I had the green beans and I ,still eating low salt meals, had to throw the beans away.( If I were home I would have just rinsed them in water).
Price: reasonable for what you get. Prices will vary depending upon location.
Service: EXCELLENT! Every time and every location I visited , the person was friendly, able to answer questions and most importantly the meal came out exactly as ordered! All needed utensils and napkins and condiments were in the bag!!
( Don't you hate it when you order a meal and the waiter/waitress gets your meal wrong or fails to put the right condiments on your table/or in your bag and then has an attitude about it OR you get to your destination ready to eat and you don't have what you need??)

Read moreThis location is an independent site for Captain D's I generally like this location over the other locations in the area. When looking at my budget I realize I go to this location very often, often enough where the employees know my order. But I started getting a negative vide lately. I think I am plesant but the older employee who is always frowning made a comment under her breath (she did not know I heard). She complained I parked in handicap spot. I had a stroke end of May 2024 and have a handicap sticker on my license plate. Of course none of her business. Seems like even the younger waitress frowns at me, don't know if I did something to upset her. I apologize if I offended anyone. Good chance I will just start going to other locations. Enjoy the food there, and overall I did enjoy eating there. But realize not everybody can get along
xxdd noted. When to location again. This time the old hag grimaced when I brought my cup to the counter to get a refill of diet Pepsi. Like I was ringing the plague. She should not be engaged with public. I will go to other Captain D's. You have lost my business. I have spent over $200 in past month.
