Hands down the best cafe I have visited in Hanoi. An Cafe is a Vibe! With cutesy plant based decor and vintage vibes, this place is accessible and nestled right in the midst of several tourist attractions.
The place is super Instagrammable with several supremely photogenic nooks: especially their outside seating - along the brick wall of the typically cute and narrow Hanoi streets.
What stood out: Incredibly tasty food - they have excellent vegetarian options, especially Bahn Mi and brilliant portion sizes
Mind blowing coffee - now this is a given in Vietnam, but the coconut coffee and egg coffee here are to die for.
Coffee art (personalised) - While their presentation in general is quite artistic and brilliant, the coffee art was actually modelled after my friend. This personalisation stole our hearts ♥️
Very amiable staff- The staff was totally patient and amiable. Spoke excellent English and took our queries and customisation requests with much ease. They really added a lot to a beautiful experience
Artfully done decor - so this cafe has been designed by a very discerning artist (basis the impressions) and the red, green and gold decor is perfect.
Best times to go: I’d suggest going here to kick start your day for a late breakfast. The sun is just right, the birds are chirping and the cafe is bathed in a soft hue (could get a tad warm, but you could always head in)
Other facilities: Water, welcome drink - the welcome drink (a Vietnamese tea to cleanse the palate) was very cool and refreshing. Charging facilities for your phones.
I’d recommend this cafe as a must go especially for vegetarians and coffee lovers 🥰
Side note: the prices are pretty...
Read moreI should have looked at the 1-star reviews before sitting down. They are RACIST against Vietnamese people. They make up excuses ("someone else booked the table") to kick us out even though we placed the order.
I came with my partner (Caucasian, male) and was guided to a table by a staff member. We looked at the menu and placed the order. I spoke some Vietnamese to him. He continued taking our order. 10 minutes later, a lady (owner?) showed up and asked if I was Vietnamese. I said yes. She asked where I was from and whether I lived in Vietnam (?) I was really confused at this point. Thought there was a problem with the order that she wanted me to explain in English to my partner. She then said that we had to leave because we didn't make a reservation. I said "but your staff told us to sit here". She said it was because he was new. There are no mentions in the restaurant description or reviews about making reservations. They basically made it up so they could kick me out, even after we placed the order. At this point, I'm questioning their food authenticity. If they don't want local people to taste and approve their food, it's probably not authentic. I'm very sad that they are racist against their own people. I've never been lied to and treated like this in a restaurant, not even in a foreign country. If they don't want to serve locals, they should make a sign saying so instead of lying to...
Read moreHorrible service for a Vietnamese tourist from Saigon I bought a banh mi in a shop nearby and came to this café without knowing that they also sell banh mi. The woman owner told me they do not allow their customers to bring their own banh mi but as this is the first time and I don't know that so she is ok with that. My stomach problem was getting worse at this time and I ate the bread slowly with pauses in between, when there were a few bites left, she came and asked me: "Have you finished it yet? My place is very famous among foreign tourists, if you eat a bread like this at my place, they will think that my banh mi is like yours, ONLY AT THIS LEVEL" with an unpleasant voice tone. I came there the day before and saw her welcome two foreign tourists politely and warmly in a very cherished manner. Would she talk to me the same if I were a naive foreigner, eating a banh mi buying from outside at her place? I mean WHAT LEVEL OF RUDE SHE CAN BE? Being a tourist in many places before, I haven't ever seen any places that treated their customers like this coffee shop. The Saigon brown café was not bad, the decor was nice, but it didn't make my experience here anything better than being discriminated in...
