Food is a subjective thing. While there are technical aspects to certain dishes, how they are enjoyed or appreciated can vary wildly from customer to customer. Banh mi is not a food with a limited set of technical requirements. Crusty french bread? Definitely. Various meats, pickled veggies, sauces & chilis? Usually, but not always. At the end of the day people might fight about which banh mi spot is the best in Hanoi, but your time would be better spent trying out several and discovering what you enjoy yourself. I enjoyed this. A lot. Small mom & pop shop. AC & fans on the inside. Cooking on the outside. A relatively simple menu of soups and banh mi options, along with beverages. Cash payments only (I think). No English spoken I was aware of, but the owner/operators convey a lot with a smile and a nod of the head. I opted for the roasted chicken banh mi, a change from my usual pork go-to choice, and well rewarded. The chicken had a crispy and flavorful finish - roasted and then shredded and then fried to crispiness just before serving. The obligatory shredded carrots, some lettuce, some sauces - that was about it. And it was delicious. Pair that with a delicious rice noodle bowl and you're in heaven. Drinks included various juices as well as coffees. The egg coffee is seriously delicious and very traditional. The homemade lemonade is refreshing - a good balance of sweet, citrusy-tang, and cold. It wasn't the banh mi I am used to but it was excellent and I would gladly eat here again and bring friends. You should too.

One of my favourite Bánh Mì in Hanoi. Really great shredded chicken with pâté, nicely balanced with the perfect amount of vegetables. A little mayo and chili sauce to top it off. 😋 I love how well everything works together. Stands apart from others that are either rammed with meat or swimming in sauce. Guava juice was also very nice and fresh. Would definitely return!

This Banh Mi deserves a Michelin star. It was so delicious. Especially the one with Egg is killing it. It was by far the best Banh Mi without meat. And it’s only 20k. The beef banh mi was great too and was only 10k more. If they double the price it’s still a steal for those amazing Banh Mi’s. 10/10 place and would eat here again.

We stumbled upon this Banh Mi stall by chance, and it turned out to be the best Banh Mi we had in Vietnam! The flavors were incredible – the bread was perfectly crispy on the outside, soft inside, and the filling was fresh, flavorful, and well-balanced.

The seller, a kind and friendly ibu-ibu, made the experience even better. She was super helpful and warm, making us feel right at home.

If you're in the area, you absolutely have to try this! It's a hidden gem that you'll be so glad you...

WARNING The food was not at all good, which was ok but the people stole my very expensive hat - we had, very unfortunately, left it on the table, realized and came back just a few moments later only to find the staff vehemently denying that there was any hat there. Even if there was a remote possibility that any other visitor had stolen it, the behaviour of the young girl at the front made it extremely evident that she had stolen it. DO NOT...
