Our recent dining experience at India Gate Hanoi was truly exceptional. As part of our tour package in Vietnam, we were introduced to this gem of an Indian restaurant, and it quickly became a highlight of our trip. The moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the staff, and it was clear that they took great pride in making their guests feel comfortable and welcome. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, with tasteful Indian decor that added a lovely touch to the dining atmosphere.
The food was absolutely divine. We had the pleasure of trying several dishes, but the standouts were definitely the Chicken Curry. Dishes were perfectly cooked, with the Chicken pakoda boasting rich, aromatic flavors that left us wanting more. The Chicken Curry, on the other hand, had a delightful balance of spices, with tender chicken pieces swimming in a flavorful gravy. Every dish we tried—from the buttery naans to the fragrant biryanis—was crafted with precision and tasted like a celebration of authentic Indian cuisine. It truly felt like we were enjoying a homemade meal, miles away from home.
A special shoutout goes to Mr. Goyal, the manager, who took care of us as if we were part of his family. Being fellow Indians, we were made to feel incredibly welcome, and his hospitality made all the difference. Mr. Goyal went above and beyond to ensure that our meal was enjoyable and catered to our preferences. His warm demeanor, attention to detail, and genuine care made us feel like we were having dinner in a familiar, comforting space—even though we were in a foreign country. His passion for delivering an exceptional dining experience shone through in every interaction, and we couldn’t have asked for better service.
Overall, India Gate Hanoi is a must-visit for anyone looking for a true taste of India in Vietnam. The combination of incredible food, outstanding service, and the warm welcome from Mr. Goyal made it a memorable experience for us. For travelers seeking a home away from home, this restaurant will leave you with a heart full of warmth and a stomach full of satisfaction. Highly...

We had a fantastic dining experience at India Gate at SAPA, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Indian food with a personalized touch.
From the moment we arrived, Mamta, the restaurant manager, ensured that our dietary preferences were well taken care of. We requested comfort food with less oil and no fried items, and she customized the meals beautifully without any hesitation.
Day 1: A wholesome spread of salad, buttermilk, rice, roti, fish curry, and dhall was served, all cooked to perfection. Mamta even offered extra fish, but we were already full! Day 2: As we don’t eat non-veg on this day, they provided a fully vegetarian meal with salad, roti, spinach with vegetables, dhall, rice, and paneer gravy. The roasted papad was a nice addition. A surprise full glass of buttermilk made the meal even better. Day 3: Once again, they delivered comfort food with salad, roasted papad, dhall, roti, rice, and mix veg curry—simple, fresh, and delicious.
We truly appreciated their flexibility, generosity with portions, and warm hospitality. They even offered dessert, but we had to decline as we don’t eat many sweets.
If you're looking for authentic, customizable Indian food with excellent service in SAPA, India Gate is the place to go. A huge thanks to Mamta and the team for making our meals so special!

Read moreI had an extremely frustrating experience at this establishment that I feel compelled to share. During my visit to Vietnam on September 12th, I accidentally left my AirPods behind at the restaurant. When I returned to retrieve them, despite my device clearly indicating they were still in the restaurant, the owner flatly denied having them. Unfortunately, as I had a flight to catch, I had no choice but to give up. This dishonesty and lack of accountability was deeply disappointing.
It’s astonishing that a restaurant would treat a customer’s belongings with such disregard. Instead of helping me resolve the situation, the owner dismissed my concerns, and showed a complete lack of accountability for items left behind. It’s infuriating to think that a restaurant would dismiss a customer’s concern so readily, especially when it involves personal property.
The ambience may have been pleasant, but the poor service and lack of responsibility have completely overshadowed that. I expected better from a place that claims to serve authentic Indian cuisine.
I urge anyone considering dining here to think thrice—there are plenty of other places in Hanoi that value their patrons and their property. If they can’t even handle a simple lost item with integrity, what does that say about their commitment to customer care? I certainly won’t be returning!
