VIET Restaurant Hang Bong — Restaurant in Hà Nội

Firstly I should start by saying that there are two restaurants with the same name in different locations so check twice before you book as we ended up going to the wrong place.

We waited good 30 minutes before we were served drinks and our food took a good hour and a half for two main courses (not to mention that they were served within 20 minutes of each other instead of together!).

The food itself was not anything outstanding to justify the premium price and honestly we left not only frustrated but slightly hungry too. Luckily it was just two of us so we managed to leave just after two hours but I can’t imagine how slow it must have been for the group tables that evening.

The staff was very kind, understanding and apologetic about the situation and I don’t blame them at all! What I do think is that the Chef should inform the rest of the staff when the kitchen orders are overflowing and warn customers about the long...

My wife and I ate at this restaurant during our recent stay in Hanoi and left disappointed. We went in early as we had not booked a table and wanted to ensure we could get in. When we arrived we were the only two in the restaurant but the skybar looked relatively busy. We took our seats and waited for over 20 minutes before someone attended to us. We ordered fresh vegetable spring rolls to start, stir fry chicken with lemongrass and pepper and pork bun cha Hanoi. The spring rolls were served fairly quickly and pleasant. Unfortunately my wife’s stir fry chicken was luke warm at best and my pork bun cha was similar despite it being served on bbq coals, they were barely warm. Beautiful restaurant, amazing atmosphere, and good food. I had the kindest server in all of vietnam here, Tam Nguyen. Took my order, showed me how to wrap the beef spring roll, and you could tell he’s the sweetest human being.

However, there was one thing that left a bad taste in my mouth. I had broken a plate earlier in the evening, after i paid the full bill and left to call the elevator, another server chased me down to tell me i also had to pay for the broken plate. I know it was my fault but i’ve never had to pay for broken items in a restaurant, especially at a restaurant that calls themselves luxury.
