Country House Coffee and Restaurant — Restaurant in Hội An

Wow, where should I begin. The food is excellent (both Vietnamese and western food) and coffee is some of the best we had in Vietnam. We stayed in Hoi An for almost 2 weeks and visited this restaurant almost every day for breakfast (they open super early, excellent when you arrive at 5am after and 11 hr bus ride!!), lunch, or dinner (and sometimes twice a day!!) The owners, Loan & Nhi, are by far the most friendly people we’ve met in our travels and will go above and beyond to make sure you’re comfortable and enjoying your time in Hoi An. I can 10/10 recommend the cooking class as Loan takes you with her to the local market to buy fresh ingredients & is very patient while explaining the steps to create several local dishes (the Banh Xeo is something I crave every single day and she was happy to make it for me vegetarian style!). We ended up going here after our first choice was unexpectedly closed. It was a great place for food! The owner was very friendly and was up for a chat, which we liked. She was trying to learn English so we went back forth about the Vietnamese and English words for things. We got the Cao Lau - which I thought was better than the more popular places we tried in the old town, the rice pancake - it was our first time and loved, and the fried noodle and chicken - a good and hearty filler. Great little place on Cam Nam island on the main street that continues on from the bridge to old Hoi An. We ate there 4 times in May 2019, each time very good food. It’s mostly traditional Vietnamese food, but they do have some Western choices like pizza. The traditional items were Super fresh and tasty. The vegetables were great and pho real good and fresh.
