Fabulous little local eatery My husband and I arrived late into HoiAn and asked our hotel, Little Town Villa, where we could get some local food within an easy walk. They recommended Hoang’s just around the corner.
Hoang’s is a small, clean cafe with around 7 - 8 tables. Hoang cooks delicious local dishes and serves good, cold white wine. It’s the sort of cafe you wished you had at home as your ‘local’. Both Hoang and his friendly, gentle wife Hoa, were happy to help with any questions I had about food selection.

Huang the chef is so friendly he took me into the kitchen space (about 2 square metres) and got me cooking with him the fried wonton and beef stir fried noodles. Both dishes are superb. They have the cheapest beer (20k vnd) and glass of Dalat wine (40k) we have found in Vietnam. The Cao Lau (local speciality) was way better than the ones served in the Old Town popular areas and the White Rose cakes (Beo cakes) were also good. Hua, his wife is also lovely and smiley. I ordered the fried noodles with vegetables and it was absolutely… just really really good ahahah. Haven’t had many noodle dishes in Vietnam and was craving some fried noodles! This is the place if you feel the same! Such great quality food with a friendly atmosphere!
Ate like a king thanks to the perfect portion size. This place is also open late, serving us at 9.30pm, after a few Huda’s it was the perfect spot!
