The Ancient Town of Hoi An is charming town where you can spend hours walking on the street to admire the architecture of the past - wooden Chinese shophouses and temple, colourful french colonial buildings, ornate Vietnamese tube houses and last but not least.. the famous Japanese Covered Bridge with its pagoda. This town located on the central coast of Vietnam, and has been recognised as UNESCO World Heritage Site.
There are various entry points into the Ancient Town but one has to pay entry fee. After spending some time to explore some part of the historical town, we decided to stop by for a cup of coffee to rejuvenate. I remembered a cafe on our way in earlier so we walked back to Hoi An Roastery. It occupies an ancient Chinese shophouse with lots of greens surrounding it.
We knew that we had to sit down, relax and enjoy a cup of coffee - be it iced Vietnamese coffee (you could literally find it at any cafe); or regular espresso based coffee such as latte, cappuccino; or even special coffee such as coconut based ones which are quite popular in Vietnam. Completed our break were pastries and cakes.
There are a few Hoi An Roastery in this town area, whichever it is they are serving practically same thing so in case you're tired and hungry, it might be a good decision to stop and enjoy a cold...
Read moreOn a scorching day in Hoi An, with temperatures soaring to a sweltering 36 degrees Celsius, a quick dash into a nearby café for a cold drink seemed like the perfect respite. Unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired, as the cafe lacked air conditioning.
My quest for a cool and flavorful iced drink wasn't entirely successful either. The matcha blended drink tasted more like regular green tea, and the lemongrass peach tea seemed to be missing the lemongrass altogether. The citrus iced tea was unremarkable, tasting like any store-bought canned or bottled option. Even the chocolate mint smoothie disappointed, with no hint of mint flavor. The melted ice cream upon arrival wasn't surprising given the heat, but it did add to the overall feeling of a less-than-ideal refreshment experience. On a positive note, the cafe offered a welcome respite from the relentless sun. So, if you find yourself needing a quick escape from the heat, this cafe might be a temporary haven. But if you're specifically looking for delicious and flavourful iced beverages, you might want to keep searching.😄

Read moreI recently tried coconut coffee, and it turned out to be one of the most unique and refreshing coffee experiences I’ve had. The first sip instantly stood out – the rich, bold aroma of freshly brewed coffee beautifully blended with the light, natural sweetness of coconut. Unlike regular flavored coffees that often taste artificial, this one felt smooth and authentic.
The coconut added a creamy texture without being heavy, making the drink both comforting and energizing. There’s a subtle nuttiness in the aftertaste that lingers pleasantly, leaving you wanting another sip. What I loved most is how it balances flavors – the coffee isn’t overpowered, and the coconut doesn’t feel too sweet.
It’s the perfect drink for someone who enjoys experimenting beyond traditional lattes and cappuccinos. To me, it’s like a tropical twist in a cup – uplifting, indulgent, and memorable.
If you’re a coffee lover looking for something refreshing yet different, coconut coffee is absolutely...
