A Slice of Italian Heaven in Hoi An: Lim Dining Room Exceeds All Expectations In a city celebrated for its incredible Vietnamese cuisine, Lim Dining Room stands as a beacon of exceptional Italian artistry. During our stay in Hoi An, we found ourselves drawn back to this culinary gem not once, not twice, but three times From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in an atmosphere of refined elegance. The building and décor are simply stunning, creating a sophisticated yet welcoming ambiance. But it's the food that truly steals the show. The Italian fare, particularly the pizza, is nothing short of sublime. Each dish is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, rivaling and even surpassing the best Italian restaurants I've had the pleasure of experiencing worldwide. And that's saying something, considering my usual preference for local cuisine! Beyond the exceptional food, the staff at Lim Dining Room are truly remarkable. Their warm, genuine hospitality elevates the dining experience to an unforgettable level. We were particularly touched by their spontaneous celebration of two birthdays during our visits. Without any prompting, they orchestrated a heartfelt rendition of "Happy Birthday," complete with a complimentary, beautifully presented dessert and candle. It's these thoughtful, personal touches that set Lim Dining Room apart. The dedication and passion of the entire team are evident in every aspect of the restaurant. They clearly take immense pride in their work, and it shines through in the quality of the food and the attentiveness of the service. Thank you to everyone at Lim Dining Room for creating such a consistently wonderful experience. You've not only won our hearts but also set a new standard for Italian dining in Hoi An. If you're looking for an exceptional meal and unforgettable memories, look no further than Lim Dining Room. It's an...
Read moreLim Dining is a restaurant nestled in the bustling Old Town of Hoi An, featuring a simple yet elegant design and offering nearly everything you might need.
Right after we were welcomed, we were offered cold water and ice – something that may seem simple, but truly essential in the scorching heat of Hoi An these days. We’re not sure whether the restaurant has an air-conditioned area, but we were seated near the entrance, which was quite hot. Fortunately, there were 2 to 3 fans placed nearby, so things cooled down after about 5–10 minutes of resting.
The staff were enthusiastic and quick, although there seemed to be slightly too few servers for the number of guests – and we don’t think we were the only ones who noticed that.
The food was definitely impressive. Starting with the “Khoai bổ cau “, which might sound like a simple dish, but was executed far better here than in any other place we’ve tried in Hoi An. Their wood-fired pizzas are a must-try, thanks to the high-quality and unique cheeses they use. The Italian meatballs were also very memorable.
Another delightful surprise was the chilled veal – with that price, one could probably buy a whole kilogram of veal outside, but Lim Dining elevated this local ingredient to a whole new level. It’s definitely a “should try” when you come here.
As for the pork chop, it was perhaps the most “ordinary” dish compared to the others mentioned. We’d recommend that the staff offer to slice it for guests after cooking, as the cut is quite large and extremely lean, making it very difficult to cut, especially for female diners.
Lastly, we suggest improving the cleanliness of the restroom slightly for a better overall experience.
To sum up, I will definitely return and recommend Lim Dining to my friends and anyone looking to try something new and different beyond the classic Hoi An...
Read moreWow! Authentic fresh ingredients, superb service and a charming atmosphere. Lim Dining Room is truly a fine dining experience in old town Hoi An. We were referred to Lin Dining Room, by Zachary, a restaurateur of The Gypsy Rooftop Kitchen & Bar in Da Nang. The recommendation was spot-on! We were greeted right away and sat, even though the restaurant was busy. Our server, Cương helped us with questions about food and drink and attended to our needs throughout the evening; as did other staff. Lin has a nice selection of beer and wine. We opted to pair a Vietnamese craft beer, on tap, with the humid evening weather. Our first course was the Margarita Pizza with a fresh tomato sauce and fresh Burrata cheese, cherry tomatoes and basil. Although pizza is very subjective, and granted we have tried many pizzas in the area, this was the best pizza that we have tried in terms of fresh ingredients, taste and texture of the dough. The second course was the homemade Sweet Potato Gnocchi. If you like Gnocchi, you know that this dish is usually hit or miss at many restaurants. The Gnocchi at Lin, was outstanding. The Gnocchi was cooked just right and had a soft, pillowy texture, with a wonderful, yet subtle flavor of the sweet potato. The Burrata cheese and tomatoes put this dish over-the-top. If I were to guess, I’d say that there may be some Ricotta cheese in the Gnocchi. Although the desserts looks delicious, we will have to report on those on our next visit. Lin Dining Room definitely earned 5-Stars for us and will be on our Best of Hoi An restaurant list. Try it out...
