Pros: -The environment is very good, spacious, and well decorated. -Food is creative and various, and the portion is quite large. We ordered 2 noodles, 3 dishes and 1 bowl of pumpkin sour for 2, very full.
Cons: -flavor is a bit havy, especially the pumpkin soup, it’s very rich but too salty. -The one I care the most!! Waitress seem doesn’t very care of customer’s special require. I don’t eat garlic and onions for religious reason. When I step in and hand over the menu, I checked with waitress A, the girl with braces, and she said all dishes can be customized. Yet when I read the menu, I found some dishes like dumplings included chives inside. Obviously not every single dishes can be customized. That’s the first thing, the employees are not well trained, or say, not familiar with various kinds of veganism. After reading the menu, I ordered with waitress B, who happened to be closest to me. I forgot to note her about garlic and onions until I finished ordering and go to dressing room. When I came out from dressing room I saw waitress A again and I told her again, and she assured me she knows that. So we had the meals, and here came the last dishes, and we had half of it I found there’s several 1/4 slices of onions at the bottom of the plate. I call the waitress, and the waitress A just came and gave a glimpse and she’s gone(???) and then waitress B came to apologize, but I know it’s not her fault bcuz I forgot to tell her when I ordered. But I assured AT LEAST TWICE with waitress A and she said nothing when I call them or even when she helped me for the check. That makes me feel she doesn’t care all these customers’ requirements. I’m for religion so I can just pick up the onions, but what if I’m allergic?! They should be...
Read moreNice vegan vietnamese food, tastes good.
If you are looking for good, fully vegan vietnamese food this is a good place to go. They offer a great menu of different vietnamese vegan dishes, such as grilled eggplant, ratatouille, banh xeo, different dumplings (steamed and fried), salads and more.
We had the vegan dumplings, fried eggplant, rice with beans, a ratatouille with noodle and everything was really delicious.
I also ordered a fresh juice, apple and pineapple mixed, like the offer in the menu for around 2€. I expected to get a fresh pressed juice and so I was very disappointed when I only got a small glass, only half full with the smallest portion of juice I ever got served somewhere. They told me, that's because they didn't mix the fresh juice with water. Yeah okay, but when I order a fresh pressed juice (like they seem to offer) I do NOT expect, to get the juice mixed 80% water, 20% fruit juice. Sorry, but I expected a fresh, delicious juice and not just a sip.
We complained about this sad looking half empty glass but they just said "we didn't mix with water". So, if you want to order juice here: DO NOT!
The food was good, delicious and tasty.
I also tried the vegan banana flambe with coconut sugo, which was okay but nothing more than a hot banana with coconut milk. Maybe a bit to sweet, too and nothing special.
To conclude: for tasty vietnamese vegan food this is a nice place. I can recommend this!
Sadly not for juice and the banana...
Read moreV Vegan, close to Hoi An's main drag leading to the riverfront, is another one of the Old Town's magnificent, curated restaurants in a heritage structure. The small porch with a few tables under sun umbrellas, leads into a capacious, beautiful area with a bar, dining tables with blue chairs, and a huge dining area beyond the bar. The design is old wood and Hoi An's signature lemon-yellow walls. The ceiling in the hall at the entrance is all-wood. Beautiful orange and blue silk lanterns hang over the tables and the aisles. The orange and blue theme is repeated in the orange serviettes in blue saucers on the tables. Real yellow flowers in vases sit pretty on the tables. I ordered a Vietnamese Vegan Combo of caramellised tofu and mushroom curry, steamed rice, green beans, mushroom-cabbage soup, with a spicy soya sauce. The tofu claypot had a slight meaty taste. The green beans were delicious and the soup though bland, cheery when plonked with the soya-chilly sauce. The mood piano music enlivened the meal and the atmosphere. The colours, the warm lights, the classy, antiquish décor, and the presentation of the food, makes this a fine...
