You’re required to place your order before knowing whether there are seats available inside. I can understand this approach — the rooftop view is beautiful, and this policy probably helps filter out those who just want to go upstairs for photos without ordering.
However, the rooftop seemed to be taken over by a professional photography team. The photographer and their client occupied the best photo spot for a long time, while others in their group stood around to block access, preventing other guests from getting close. I'm not sure if the café has some sort of collaboration with those team, but I did see a photographer bring clients up without ordering anything. It’s the café’s space, and they’re free to use it how they like — but time limits should be enforced to protect the experience of regular customers. Otherwise, all we can do is watch from the sidelines.
Service was mediocre. The place felt quite crowded. The rooftop view was nice, but the drinks...
Read moreThe Faifo is a lovely space located on three floors, accessed by an antique staircase. Each floor is unique and beautiful and charming. It's a self-service café, so place the orders on the ground floor, a quaint space with old lemon-yellow walls, dark antique furniture, wooden counter, teak pillars and silk lanterns. The cake display near the billing counter has some interesting desserts, including cheesecakes. The second floor has comfortable long sofas against the wall, and small and large tables for different group sizes. There are beautiful prints on all the three floors. The warm lighting, the interiors, patterns and design all greatly enhance the ambience of this beautiful place. I ordered an iced cappuccino. The flavour wasn't exceptional, but never mind, you'll enjoy the ambience if you aren't particular about the coffee. There are other beverages and desserts that'll catch your fancy,...
Read moreThe coffee and cake were absolutely fantastic—truly some of the best I’ve had. Unfortunately, the overall experience was overshadowed by the atmosphere on the rooftop. Despite being a beautiful space, it’s clearly not intended for customers to relax and enjoy their purchase, as nearly every table has signs discouraging seating in favor of photo opportunities.
After some searching, we did manage to find a place to sit, but the rooftop was crowded with people queuing and jostling for the perfect photo spot. At one point, we were even asked to move by staff when our drinks arrived, as the area was apparently prioritized for photography, not dining.
It was a disappointing experience in that regard—it felt more like a curated backdrop for social media than a café. I wish the focus had remained on the quality food and drink rather than turning the space into a glorified...
