Bun Cha Very unassuming, pretty platter, but the flavours would wow you. Meatballs (more like meat pancake) were savoury and juicy. Even the lean pork was overcooked and tough, it was still well seasoned. Spring rolls are very well fried and well stuffed!
Most importantly, the rice noodles go super well with the flavor bomb of a sauce in the middle, and this is sufficient to fill 1 person’s stomach
Cao Lao Would recommend eating this first followed by the Bun Cha, as this would pale in comparison in terms of flavor profile since it is milder.
Notwithstanding that, this does not mean it is a bad dish - noodles were decently cooked and tossed with the complementary sauce
Stuffed Squid Squid is a tad overcooked, but the stuffing is generous and a good balance of saltiness & sweetness - a little expensive as compared to the other dishes but might pale in comparison as compared to the rest. Sauce is quite mild, but if you focus on it, you would be able to taste the umami, which works well with the squid. Only consider if you’re sharing with more people so you can try more dishes. This dish is nice but not worth just eating this.
Side note: waiter was very nice as he noticed that I might have over-ordered for 2 pax, so he recommended for me to reduce 1 dish. Portion is good enough for a hungry adult so you do not...
Read moreThis is the best Vietnamese cuisine restaurant that I have ever eaten at. I had stuffed egg plant with meat covered with an excellent sauce. My wife had Pho Ga that was the best she has ever had and she’s Vietnamese. The service is excellent. The food is above excellent . The atmosphere is nothing but great, it’s a must do restaurant if you’re visiting Hoi An. I have lived in Vietnam for three years now. I have been to many restaurants, but this has become definitely the number one restaurant on my list. I had the best meal that I have ever had in Vietnam at Pause and Joy. I just found out that they have one where I live in Đà Nẵng. Which my wife and I will definitely try them. I had googled top five restaurants in Hoi An and the Pause and Joy restaurant was not in the top five. So that night before, we went to one of them which was called MẸT Hội An. It was also a very good restaurant with excellent service, food and atmosphere. But there is no doubt in my mind that Pause and Joy should be included in the top five. Pause and Joy is our number one...
Read moreI had the pleasure of visiting both locations of Pause & Enjoy Restaurant — one in Hoi An and the other in Da Nang — and let me just say, they both delivered flavor and hospitality perfection.
I ordered the fried fish at both locations because, honestly, once you’ve had it, there’s no going back. It was perfectly crispy on the outside, tender inside, and served with a rich, flavorful sauce and a refreshing dipping sauce on the side. The meal also came with white rice, rice paper, and fresh vegetables to wrap the fish in — such a fun and delicious experience.
The atmosphere in both locations was cozy yet vibrant, the staff was incredibly friendly, and the manager made sure every guest felt taken care of. To top it off, they even bring out complimentary fresh fruit after your meal — such a thoughtful touch!
Whether you’re in Hoi An or Da Nang, Pause & Enjoy is an absolute must-try. Delicious food, amazing service, and an all-around great...
