I recently had the pleasure of dining at New Day Restaurant in Hanoi, and I must say, it was an absolute culinary delight! From their delectable pho to their mouthwatering fried noodles, rice with pork, refreshing lime water, and indulgent mango smoothie, every dish I tried left a lasting impression. Here's a breakdown of my experience:
Pho: The pho at New Day Restaurant is simply exceptional. The flavorful broth, the tender slices of beef, and the aromatic blend of herbs and spices made it an instant favorite. The portion was generous, and every spoonful was a comforting sensation. It was undoubtedly one of the best pho dishes I've had in Hanoi.
Fried Noodles: The fried noodles were a true highlight of the meal. They were perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of wok-charred flavor. The combination of fresh vegetables, succulent meat, and the rich sauce created a harmonious blend of textures and flavors. Each bite was a burst of savory goodness.
Rice with Pork: The rice with pork dish was a delightful surprise. The tender and succulent pork, accompanied by fragrant jasmine rice, created a delightful combination. The dish was well-seasoned and had a perfect balance of flavors. It was a comforting and satisfying option, showcasing the culinary expertise of the chefs.
Lime Water: New Day Restaurant's lime water was a refreshing accompaniment to the meal. It provided a zesty and citrusy twist that complemented the dishes perfectly. Served with ice, it was a revitalizing choice that cleansed the palate and enhanced the overall dining experience.
Mango Smoothie: The mango smoothie was the perfect ending to my meal. It was rich, creamy, and bursting with the tropical flavors of fresh mango. The smoothie was perfectly blended, and the sweetness was just right, making it a refreshing and indulgent treat.
Apart from the outstanding food, the ambiance and service at New Day Restaurant were commendable. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, ensuring that every aspect of the dining experience was top-notch.
In conclusion, I highly recommend New Day Restaurant in Hanoi. Their pho, fried noodles, rice with pork, lime water, and mango smoothie exceeded my expectations in every way. Read moreWe remembered eating in this restaurant during our last visit to Hanoi in 2018. It was always packed then, seems less so now. There are lots of staff but it is still difficult to get attention at times as they seem to spend a lot of time chatting amongst themselves. We ended up eating here twice for lunch and twice for dinner during our 4 day stay as it is one
of the few restaurants offering alcohol other than beer at less exorbitant prices.
That said their gin and tonics were very weak and Dalat wine, whilst only priced by the bottle on the menu is better value by the glass. Food comes quickly but luckily we have learned to order main courses after we had eaten starters. It was mixed in quality. We loved the pork omelette we had for lunch and the spring rolls we shared as a starter. Chicken with lemongrass and garlic was also excellent. However accompanying rice portions were tiny and when we asked for more we were charged extra. We noticed the portions were much larger for Vietnamese. The pork ribs with garlic and chilli was quite chewy although they did try to persuade us to have them with the BBQ sauce instead. A bonus is that cards are accepted for payment without an...
Read moreWe came here for a late lunch and ordered several dishes: Friend chicken with lemongrass and chilli; Bun Bo Nam Bo; Fried rice with egg; Stir fried water spinach with garlic; And a mango&avocado smoothie.
The stir fried water spinach was the first to come out and was packed with flavour. After that all dishes followed promptly as well as our drinks.
The fried chicken with lemongrass and chilli actually lacked a lot of chilli and was a little dry. The chicken was definitely a little overcooked and so it was definitely in need of sauce, that the dish didn't have.
The Bun Bo Nam Bo tasted really nice, beautifully spiced and herbed and was actually a nice surprise in terms of flavour.
The fried rice with egg was of normal quality.
The avocado/mango smoothie was a mix I hadn't had yet and wanted to try. It isn't bad, but not great either. I recommend ordering the separate smoothies instead of the mixed one.
Overall a good experience but the restaurant has more average food for a higher price in comparison to the area.
We had a good time, the service was kind and quick and the place...
