Always Cafe - A magical wizard cafe — Restaurant in Hà Nội

Cafe is super cute and Harry Potter themed but you should only come if you have a lot of time to spare and aren’t super hungry! I’m not exaggerating when I say, the total of the amount of time I spent waiting for my drinks to all arrive at every single cafe I have been to in Vietnam this month (and I have probably been to at least one cafe a day) is still less than the amount of time I spent waiting for all my items to arrive at this cafe. I really wanted to love this place so am sad I have to rate it so poorly.

Let’s talk about general stuff first like seating. The shop doesn’t have too many tables/seats available though with the entire back room (of about four tables) being filled around noon. The front of the shop has some small two seaters and front facing chairs if those suit your tastes more.

Some pros, this cafe is amazing for Harry Potter lovers. The cafe also has a variety of props available too for some wizardly picture taking.

Some cons, probably everything else. I took pictures of when I have arrived and when things got to my table so I have time stamp of exact times. The food and drinks took a while to come. It took around 30 minutes before they even brought out water for everyone that was seated at the cafe already (only about 4 parties at the cafe at this time; so from 12:10 PM to 12:42 PM). Then about another 30 minutes after that for our singular order of cheese fries to arrive (12:42 PM to 1:08 PM). And the cheese fries were cold. Then another 15 minutes after that for our one drink order to arrive (and it was brought to every table around us wrongly before arriving to us; 1:08 PM to 1:23 PM). The wrong orders belonging to others were also brought to our tables a few times too. Mind you there were only 4 tables seated at this time with 2-4 people at each table. We were also one of the tables of two so only ordered 2 drinks and 1 food item, so it wasn’t like we ordered a lot which caused delays. The cafe didn’t have too many people ordering things either and some people haven’t gotten any of their items by the time we got our fries. They brought out some dried fruits chips to apologize for the wait after our first drink came out but then it still took about another 15 minutes after that for our final item to arrive to us. In the final 15 minutes of us waiting for that drink, we saw a table that got seated at the front, order their drinks, receive their two drinks, finish drinking it, pay, then leave. All before we even received our last item. One of the tables next to us has not received a single one of their items during this entire time too and they were all falling asleep on each other from the wait.

For food, we tried ordering the wings (though we are glad we were unable to because we can’t imagine how long that would have taken) but they already were out by noon so we just got the cheese fries instead. As for the drinks we got, they were average. Nothing special to say about it. And for the cheese fries, they were kind of cold with the cheese powder not fully sticking to most of the fries but overall not a bad finger food to share with others in your party especially since we were starved by the time it arrived. The ketchup container that came with it though was also basically empty with only the bottom of the container containing ketchup. By the way the cheese powder for these fries are more like Asian cheese flavored so expect it to be more sweet than savory. But with the long unreasonable wait, the taste of the food and drinks dropped drastically.

For atmosphere, the decor is amazing and the vibes are immaculate though.

Overall, I would probably only recommend if you want to relax here the whole day. Would not recommend if you plan on having things to do anytime soon after leaving the cafe and by soon after I mean within 4-5 hours of leaving the cafe, since the service was so slow, we had to end up skipping our lunch plans we initially had.
