Had so many small insects in my pho. ALOT. When we told the workers they said that they said the the insects had just flown into the food after they had served it!? It wasn't possible because A) there were no insects where we were sitting and B) we had ordered two other dishes which did not have any insects and C) none of the bugs were moving- they were all dead meaning they were cooked. It was only the pho which 2 of us had ordered, both of which had insects. I wouldn't have wrote a review if they had just apologised and given back the money we had spent. While they did give the money (after they told us they wouldn't) they refused to accept it was their fault. Not once did they say we were sorry after my daughter eaten half a bowl of insects. They started shouting at us when we asked to see the kitchen and said that we were being selfish and shameless when we said that money wasn't the issue but rather not being able to apologise and reassure that no other customers would have insects in their food. They acted like they were being generous by giving back the money for half-eaten food. The manager said their was no bugs all together until we took pictures, zooming in. There wouldn't have been any issue if they took responsibility instead of blaming us on where we were sitting. This was unfortunately my experience.
edit: why would we want a free meal when the issue was the insects in the pho that you still refuse to take responisbility over? We had eaten at the exact same resteraunt the night before and payed for our meal. We thought the food was nice and since you had given us a 10% discount voucher for our next meal we decided to eat at your resteraunt again. We only asked to see the kitchen since you did not believe that there was insects in the pho. The insects where so small that I only noticed after some of us had eaten our meal, hence some meals where completely eaten, and hence we only asked to pay 50% of what we had ordered. Then you offered to fully compensate for all of our meals. we only bought up getting sick to show the result of not taking responsiblity and accepting a mistake. It is not about the money but apologising and reassuring that no such mistake would...
Read moreI wanted to clarify a situation that occurred at the restaurant, as I feel there was a misunderstanding, even though I explained it at the time. Unfortunately, it seems I was still blamed for the confusion.
When ordering, I asked the waiter if it was possible to substitute chicken for shrimp in the Tom Yum soup. The waiter informed me that it wasn’t possible, so I decided to order a fish sour soup dish instead (I don’t remember the exact name). Shortly after, the waiter asked if I wanted Tom Yum with chicken, to which I said yes. I then canceled my previous order of the fish sour soup.
When the food arrived, I was served a dish that clearly had the ingredients of the fish sour soup (including pineapple), but with chicken instead of fish. I pointed out that this was not Tom Yum with chicken, but they insisted it was.
The situation escalated when an older gentleman, who I believe was the owner, approached me. He asked if I didn’t want the dish and took it away. I tried to explain what had happened and emphasized that it was a misunderstanding, but his response was dismissive. He said something along the lines of, “This is not Thailand; this is Vietnam. Vietnam and Thailand are different countries.”
This response left me deeply disappointed, not just because of the misunderstanding but because of the unprofessional and dismissive attitude toward a customer. Instead of addressing the situation with empathy or attempting to resolve the issue, I felt I was being blamed and invalidated. His tone and approach felt condescending, as if he was more interested in defending the restaurant than understanding my concerns. This kind of behavior reflects poorly on customer service, as professionalism and respect should always be prioritized when dealing...
Read moreWe tried the Coconut curry ( chicken), Vietnamese curry(shrimp), chicken salad, fruit and icecream crepes and I forgot which fried rice, but they were all delicious and good portions. We had them on 3 different days and times we visited. Dinner, lunch and breakfast- in that order.
We don't recommend getting any of the club sandwiches. Pretty flat tasteless club sandwich. Dry chicken looked hastily done. Was super disappointed as it was our last time eating there and the previous experiences were very good.
I don't know what it is but the majority of places where you order juices, give you less than half a portion of juice and ice the rest regardless of price... we'll this place was the first where I actually got fresh juice to the brim. Although, to be honest, glass was tall but very thin. We ordered second serving to actually quench our thirst.
The atmosphere was calm and quiet, considering it's located in a very busy area surrounding it ( it's in an alley with Bui Vien walking street on one end and a main street with a popular park on the other.
I would recommend if you stick to the Asian dishes....
