An excellent family run chippy, the oldest in Blackpool (opened in 1907 to be exact) and still going strong! It's tucked away in a side street close to Blackpool North Station. Came here for lunch and the minute I entered, I was greeted by cheerful and friendly staff who could not have been more welcoming. The restaurant, with a takeaway next to it, is larger than it looks from the outside, with comfy leather seating and some nice nautical themed pictures and tapestries on the walls. Very clean, with a hand sanitiser at the entrance, and tables cleaned as soon as they were vacated. The toilets (with baby changing), at the top of a long narrow staircase, were also very clean. Although it was busy, service was efficient and it didn't take too long to get my meal. Had the special cod in batter, with chips and mushy peas. The food was freshly cooked and served very hot. Generous portions. Good sized fish, and I could choose between regular and light batter. Some of the best chips I've eaten in a restaurant, chunky but also light and fluffy. With a slice of brown bread and butter, and a large cup of good strong tea, the meal cost £14. The atmosphere was so relaxed and friendly. I really enjoyed my lunch here and will return.

One the best fish and chips shops me and my boyfriend have ever been to. There are portion sizes to suit everyone and the choice of light or normal coating of batter means you can customise your meal which is fantastic. The fish can only be described as amazing and both the fish and chips are cooked to perfection. Add bread and butter and batter scraps and my boyfriend was in fish and chip heaven, as wherever he goes he has to find a chippy. The customer service is second to none everyone is friendly and welcoming and even when we found a small hair in the excellent spicy curry sauce not only did they replace the curry sauce but they also replaced the slice of bread and took the price of both off our bill. The best thing about this was the fact that the manger herself came over with the replacement items an apology and that she would sort the bill out which was lovely. We enjoyed the food so much we went back the next day and were greeted with a welcoming smile as they remembered us. This is without a doubt one of the best chip shops ever and I think that Harry Ramsden's should hand over their world's greatest slogan to this chippy.

I came here on a rainy Wednesday, with baggage, umbrella and everything. The staff get to the door and welcome me with a warm smile. She helped me with my baggage, and my umbrella. She help to seat me and give me the menu. The food is just amazing, the fish is very big portion, the mushy peas tastes surprisingly good, it taste fresh, the chips are crunchy with soft insides and she even provide me with bottomless mayo for me to dine with. I fell in love at first sight with this place, the staff also is very kind and friendly despite the restaurant seems busy, referred yo me as darling and sweety makes me feel like I’m at my granny's. She also keep checking up on me and asking me about the meal and if i need anything. SOLID 10/10. TOTALLY WOULD COME AGAIN, WHEN IN BLACKPOOL. To the staff if you are reading this, I really appreciate and I am the guy with red baggage in black coat and green umbrella. Hope to come again ❤️

We came here today (29th August) as we're staying over in Blackpool for the night. Being from Leeds we just had to try out Yorkshire Fisheries and I'm so glad we did! I had The Haddock & Chips, My Partner had Cod & Chips with Mushy Peas and our son had a Cheeseburger & Chips (typical boy) lol I am writing this review before my partner has even finished! It was just an amazing, all-round experience. The staff were polite and friendly, the chips were spot-on (I've never liked chips from a chip shop) and the Haddock was melt-in-your-mouth as was the COD my partner had. We also couldn't resist having scraps with our meal too (even joked with the manageress about how it's not Fish & Chips without scraps and she disagreed lol) My son said his burger was one of the best he's had too! We'd just like to thank all the team for a lovely experience. We will be back next time we visit! :) Richard & Family.

If you are looking for world class fish & chips it has to be the Yorkshire Fisheries in Blackpool, from their takeaway selection to sitting in there isn't anything they cant master, it really is the number one fish & chip shop! We had a little overnight stop in Blackpool and knew exactly what we wanted to eat before even arriving. We arrived 30 minutes before closing expecting to be turned away but luckily for us there was a rebellion festival throughout the day so they were queued out the door and welcomed us in with open arms. There is no words to describe how good the fish & chips are: the batter is so crispy, the fish breaks away in your hands and the chips are just how you like them. I cant speak highly enough of the Yorkshire Fisheries, being from Aberdeen there are some good fish & chip shops but this Topping St delight is one of the best & is a MUST when in Blackpool!

Heard about this little gem from YouTube. I had Crispy Cod Special, with a very nice cup of tea and a piece of bread and butter. Worth the rave going here!! So the batter was perfectly crispy no soggy later like a lot of chippys' the fish was lovely and cooked to perfection. The chips were top tier definitely home made soft and fluffy with crispy outer again what alot of chippys' don't seem to grasp! It's about 10min walk inland from the north pier. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable of the menu! Very clean with cosy booths to dine in, there is also a separate takeaway side so I suppose you don't get caught up in the bustle of a lunch time rush! Thank you! Some feed back maybe but the London bus portraits look out of place maybe replace with some Blackpool history/landmarks photos or prints!! Also the curry was super tasty!!! Proper chippy curry with a kick
