First and last time we will be doing this one , very disappointed from start to finish that took about 30 minutes , rude security guards insisting on band checks even though we had rolled up sleeves on so could clearly see the red bands to very very overpriced French products that were clearly not authentic over priced patisseries that looked exactly like Cole’s or Woolworths cheerios ? The wine servers were not trained so my glass was 1/4 filled my husbands over filled and warm , we do so many events this should be a free event for people because they would have made a small fortune on selling cheeses Woolworths sell for $7.50 but there $22 ! The tower was cute , no good for children at all way too many drunken people walking around just generally never been so disappointed save your money we walked round to the Southbank markets where we saw a authentic singer which was great ( not in the paid area ) just disappointed Brisbane

Our annual dose of French culture, drinks and food (read wine and cheese for me) in Brisbane! There is a wine pavilion (wine tasting), all sorts of French food stalls (crepes, cheese, cremes brulees, beef burgundy, escargots, etc.), a typical French bistro/bar (French champagne, wines, Pastis, etc.), a massive stage with music/shows all day long in a covered area, a kids corner with fun activities and masterclasses with a mix of topics (cheese, beer & wine tastings, sip & paint class, fashion class, etc.).

Such a fantastic event! After having volunteered for a couple of years, I loved it so much, I decided I want to become more involved, and hence joined the committee in 2019. It has been one of the best things I’ve done! Amazing atmosphere, great ambience, delicious food and wine to sample, and so much more of French culture to experience! I can definitely see why it is the biggest French Festival in Australia, which makes me all the more proud and honoured to be a part of it.

Honestly, something felt really off about how the organisers ran this year’s French Festival. Why were pre-purchased online tickets more expensive than buying them at the door? It made loyal supporters feel duped and disrespected. I was ashamed with my friends tþ whom I sent the original organiser’s link and they purchased tickets there at $25/person. While we arrived on site it was something like $15/person.

And don’t even get me started on the food. A so-called “savory salmon crĂȘpe” came with just two tiny slices of salmon—and they charged $25 for it. I literally had to ask, “Is that really all the filling for $25?” because I thought they’d made a mistake.

The pastries? The Danishes and Pain Au Chocolat looked exactly like the ones from Woolies or Coles that i bought every week No real artisan pastry looks that uniform and mass-produced. Where’s the love for authenticity?

Honestly, I feel bad for the volunteers who were working so hard while this kind of poor-quality experience was being served to the...

It was very underwhelming for the hype prior to the event.

We paid $20 each online for entry to finally arrive at the event and realise how very small it was. Then you needed to buy food, which I was aware of, but to purchase something substantial, you were spending roughly $20. So for entry and food for 3 people, $120 gone within 15 minutes, and that's not including the carpark fees.

Minimal entertainment walking around unless you went to the stage, and even then the 2 times I walked past the stage, nothing was on.

We left after 40 minutes as we had seen everything and were done. Thank God southbabk markets were on, as that made the day a little more enjoyable and didn't feel like such a waste.

Buddha's birthday and Greek festival are far...
