Visited here mid-February for a quick early dinner. Staff was friendly and attentive. The decor is a modern Mexican vibe with a nice atmosphere. The food came out fairly fast as the restaurant wasn't too busy. The key stand-out dish would have to be the prawn cutlets in a sweet chilli tamarind miso butter. Snapper tacos were also nice once the lime was squeezed in as the batter on the fish was lacking a little salt. Tuna Ceviche was also refreshing with the crunch of corn chips. Once again, perhaps lacking a little seasoning to bring out extra flavour. Croquetas were ok. However, the jalapeño and manchego flavours were masked by too much mash potato that lacked salt. Unfortunately, the limes you see in the photos were all very dry, with only a few drops per wedge it was enough for the snapper tacos. Overall, the venue has an enjoyable modern Mexican twist. Perhaps a few improvements will see this venue rise to the top of Mexican cuisine in the Brisbane area.

It wasn’t quite the traditional style I was hoping for. The tacos felt more like mini wraps, and many of the sauces seemed to come from packets or cans. The spiced black bean filling tasted more like a chilli con carne with tomato, which unfortunately my partner couldn’t eat. The cheese sauce also resembled a processed dip, which wasn’t what I expected. On the positive side, the portions were generous. However, the chicken was quite tough—likely pre-cooked and left to sit—and the table was sticky due to left over drink spillage. Our drink order was also forgotten, which didn’t help the overall experience. Overall, the food and service weren’t great, but I can understand why the place attracts crowds with its lively atmosphere and drinks menu.

I had high expectations based on the great reviews, however we were let down. They clearly forget my wife’s order, it didn’t come out until we reminded the waiter about 30 minutes after everyone else had finished their dinner. Since we had young kids and they did not want to sit still any longer we ended up taking it in a to go box. Waiter was not apologetic, and they presented a ‘suggested tip’ screen when I paid (tipping is not and should never become part of Australian culture, and I would not have tipped in this instance regardless).

The food was ok - nothing special. The carne asada tasted under-seasoned, the tortillas had a bready texture. I’ve lived in the US for the last decade and been to cooking school in Mexico City so I’m spoiled for great Mexican food, I can appreciate it’s much harder to source the same ingredients here but the end result was not impressive, especially given the price. The totopos were good. The guacamole would be better if prepared in a molcajete.

The ambience was nice and they’ve clearly put a lot of effort into setting the...

WORST BOTTOMLESS experience. You charge $99 for guacamole and corn chips and a dish of mince with melted cheese to go on wraps. We asked twice for some gluten free wraps as my daughter is celiac, they never came. You don’t get tacos, or anything else that you’d normally get at a “Mexican” restaurant. Numerous times we asked to get more drinks and the staff would roll their eyes and then disappear for up to 20 mins. I saw a staff member which I’m assuming maybe is the manager glare at our table and talk shit about us. I got 3 margs in 2 hours for a bottomless deal. That is not acceptable. Everytime we asked for a drink the staff would walk off like they had to ask permission to serve us. Then we had to ask over and over for drinks. Why have a BOTTOMLESS deal if you literally can’t have a drink whenever you want. It’s not like we were ordering drinks and had them all stacked on the table. It was a birthday , we were enjoying ourselves. Really an overall bad experience. It’s not acceptable when you’re in hospitality. If you don’t like people don’t work in...
