Max Brenner - Southbank — Restaurant in Brisbane City

Very poor service and rude staff. They literally need new staff. I thought I would not bother with this review but there are many other reviews on their bad service. I wish I had checked the reviews before visiting this place.

I was charged and given a milkshake that I did not order. Waiter told me that he will get me a refund for it. While I was sorting it out, my son started drinking it. After a while, waiter came back and just grabbed the drink from the table in front of my son and said I need to take it back. There are some manners and etiquettes in food industry and he should have discussed before reaching out onto our table and start grabbing stuff. Then there were four different people who came to me and asked me if I would like my refund in cash or back on my card. I kept telling them cash would be fine. I was then made to go back to the counter as it has to be refunded on the card and when at counter, I was given the refund in cash. The other milkshake which I did order was warm when served. It was the first time I ordered it and thought may be this is how it is served. I asked the waiter if the shake is supposed to be warm or is it served cold. He confirmed it should have been cold. I told him that it was warm when served. Again, without discussing or my consent, he grabbed the milkshake and said yes it is warm. He then told me that I should have complained back then, now it has been on the table for 5-10 minutes and that is why it is warm. He said "I am sorry" and...

If I was the owner of this franchise I would be clearing house and getting all new staff or at least a manager that can man up and teach some staff how to do more than one job. There were 4 staff on a Monday night which you would think would be one of the most quiet nights and 4 people would easily be able to handle the job yet it still took 30 mins for them to take my order then another 30 mins for me to get a brownie sundae. Meanwhile 2 of the workers are walking around like they had no idea what they were doing looking for dishes on tables which didn’t exist and kept returning to the register only to go back and do another round of the tables and return with no dishes, 1 worker going in and out of the back room with nothing, and 1 worker supposed to be taking orders yet chatting to staff about other random things that weren’t relevant while ignoring the line up of customers waiting to order. I wasn’t too mad waiting because it was so entertaining watching people try and be busy because they had no direction on what to do. My sundae was pretty average and way overpriced at $16 for 2 scoops of ice cream and a couple brownie chunks, but the worst part was definitely the service and I felt bad for the owner seeing everybody in the restaurant making jokes about the terrible service, and people leaving the line after waiting 20 minutes with no movement whatsoever, and I also felt sorry for the line up of customers who didn’t even receive an apology for the wait,...

If you want to get chocolate wasted then come to Max Brenner!

I've heard so many good things about Max Brenner and I finally had the opportunity to come here last night. My friend and I came here at around 8pm. There was such a long line! We waited for a good amount of time (maybe 20-40 minutes). They have a little gift shop there, so it was cool looking at the products while waiting in line.

We got the Chocolate Fondue for Two and I also got a hot milk chocolate. The chocolate fondue was so visually appealing! It came with dark chocolate, milk chocolate, strawberries, bananas, banana bread, and marshmallows. I was really excited to try it out!

The chocolate was so thick, so creamy, so rich. It was very sweet. After a couple of pieces, I was so done with chocolate. It was just way too much chocolate for me. I wasn't expecting the chocolate to be so thick and rich. My mouth was numb from the sweetness.

The hot milk chocolate just tasted like warm milk; there wasn't much chocolate taste to it. Which was kind of disappointing. Even though I was sick of chocolate, I still wanted to taste the chocolate flavor of the hot chocolate.

I wouldn't mind coming back here again to try something else. The ice cream and the milkshakes looked...
