The most attractive part of this cathedral to me as a non christian is its beautiful sculpture of St. George slaying the dragon called Ascalon . I would recommend it to anyone who appreciates art and sculpture in particular. The sculpture is located on the St. Georges terrace side of the cathedral and is quote a monolith in White and chrome . I suggest a walking all the way around it as the light hits it in so many different ways changing the whole shape of the sculpture. Well worth a look ...even for us non...

Perth Christmas Light Trail at St. George's Cathedral 2024. This is my 2nd year viewing the Cathedral during the holidays. What a beautiful vision.

It is a projector display that cycles through many scenes.

The Cathedral is just as beautiful at night. Be sure to arrive earlier in the evening with children as the nightlife emerges later. Also the display is turned off later in the evening.

It is directly across from Council House which is also...

I visited this church last New Year Eve morning. I am not of their church. As I was very distressed at the time, I sat at the back, very tearful. Most of the service went over my head. But I was made welcome. I wrote to you and you emailed me a reply. Unfortunately I deleted it by mistake. I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, as the reverend said, we have had Christmas day but it is still Christmas til 6th Jan....

Stumbled across this Cathedral whilst walking around Perth and popped in to have a look and so pleased I did. Built in the late 1800’s it is quite grand and beautiful inside. There is a soldier’s chapel inside and some beautiful icons to look at including one of St George himself. There is also a lovely gift shop as well. Do have a look if you are in the area, it is definitely worth it.
