I love going to Korean restaurants in different countries - not that I am a food critique but man I love Korean food… my Korean blood is thick and run deep. So my wife does (even though she is Thai :))
Given we have eaten Korean food in Korea, Japan, Singapore, Melbourne, Sydney, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and more. Hey, this place… top them all… the spicy fish roe soup (알탕) was out of its own league… had to run out to buy my soju from next door since it just hit the spot. Bossam (보쌈) comes with Ssamjang, free lettuce, sliced garlic & chillies, and soup, man oh man, Ssamjang and its thickness, you can tell it’s not what they sell on grocery market but authentically made one. 떡볶이 was alright, it’s nothing special but still it’s above average. 묵은지 고등어 조림 is really nice and thick - wish it has more protein of tofu and such, but the taste wise, it just get you there.
The place is busy - full house within the 10 minutes of its opening. We are going back tomorrow for dinner. But this time, trying to have more varieties and order them before others flood in… it was weekday and...

We popped into Woojeong for lunch and were lucky to snag one of the last two seats—it’s clearly a popular spot, and now we know why! We ordered the japchae and the aged old kimchi with mackerel, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The japchae, in particular, was phenomenal—perfectly seasoned, with just the right texture.
The meal came with three small but incredibly tasty side dishes, and to our delight, the staff offered free refills not once but twice while we were dining. We were so happy with the generous service! The fat bean sprouts were our favorite among the sides—simple, fresh, and flavorful.
One of the cool things about Woojeong is that you can buy side dishes to take home, already packed in containers. We spotted some spicy marinated crab that looked amazing—definitely on our list for next time, probably along with the beef bibimbap.
We absolutely love this restaurant and highly recommend it to anyone craving authentic Korean food with warm service and generous...
Read moreMy to-go-to here is Bossam, and have always loved eating ever since I first discovered this place. Usually it isn't on their digital menu, but if you ask the staff nicely, they open the option for you. For $59, you get generously sliced pork belly, radish salad, lettuce, sauce, chili, garlic, 2x rice and soup. I personally think it is a steal. I've tried other places, but their lettuce is the freshest I have had, and the pork is the juiciest and least oily. Just build your lettuce wrap with the pork, salad and sauce and eat it. The soup (not pictured), is peppery and hearty. Note: the garlic is really spicy.
We also ordered Japchae because we overestimated our eating capabilities. But it was well seasoned, didn't clump together and wasn't sloppy.
We ended up taking a serving of food away since we ordered too much.
I highly recommend bossam if you are wanting to try...
