Stayed here for one night in Jan 2025. Location is awesome - there is a light rail station ( Haymarket) , just outside , which made it easy to get to the SCG. It is also very close to the Central station , from where you can get the train to the Airport . Situated not far from decent eateries and Chinatown . The facilities as such are very clean , I stayed in a 4 bed mixed dorm for one night . Beds were clean , sheets too , room was good as well . I was on the 6th floor , so the room had a nice balcony , but was sealed because of security / safety reasons maybe - but would be tough and suffocating with no fresh air flow . The bed has a charging point with two sockets ( Aus style ) and two usb ports as well , with a light . Good storage space for small to medium size bags , you need your own pad locks though . I did not get a towel , maybe I should have asked . The shower area was largely ok , the sink was clean and good but there weren’t towels to wipe the wet sink after usage , something that can be considered - encouraging people to keep it clean . Bathroom/ shower was good but did not have soap/ shampoo ( which you normally expect in a hostel ) . Cleanliness by default is good , but the thing with hostels is the luck of the draw - if you get good , clean folks along with you - they maintain things well , if not - it can be bad . For me it was average - hostel can also try and clean perhaps 2 times a day - given the inflow . I did not try the breakfast - the floor though was huge and seemed like lot of people could sit . There is a water station where you can fill drinking water . I think the washrooms on this floor ( 1st) could have been made easy to access for folks who wait to check in till 2 pm , becomes tough otherwise if you have to sit for 4 hours without access to washrooms ! Storage is good to put away your bags for a long duration either in lockers or in the storage area if full - do tell the reception as a courtesy so they are aware and not clean it away ! The card is access controlled and you can only get to your floor / access , which is good as a security but is a hindrance also maybe when you go for a shower / washroom . All in all a good experience - I will always recommend but the luck of draw is always important in hostels !

Staff were friendly and very helpful. Location is convenient, but bring earplugs! Tram right outside (positive or negative depending on your view) and very thin walls. The room was SO STUFFY, could barely breath and so hot, felt kinda lightheaded. It'd be nice if they could install a mesh over the windows or something just so guests can atleast open them. It got cooler at night so I survived but damn, not even a fan (reception said they have a large order of them coming in but don't know when, was there Nov 2023 for ref). Also I think the pics can be deceiving, Didn't know we'd have to make our own beds which after a long, hot day and in said stuffy rooms is not pleasant. I didn't like how you have to use your room card to get into the bathrooms and elevators but I can guess why, I think there's probably a better way to go about it though. Speaking of the bathrooms, they were fine. Shower water pressure a little low and toilets were kinda cramped in the womens bathroom on my floor. They have a hair dryer in there though. They have separate locker storage that can fit quite a large suitcase or bag (I don't think you have to be a guest to use it but not sure). It's all automated and in multiple languages. $4 upfront for first 3 hours, you pay extra when you come back if it goes over. (An extra $2 I think for the next 3 hours, the pricing was kinda confusing but still relatively cheap.) Breakfast is $12 (ask reception for a ticket) to select from your usual buffet style set ups, cereals, juice, bread, etc or a cafe in the same building, kinda expensive though.)

The place is really nice. It is centrally located so makes travelling very easy. Train station, trams, bus stops right outside the hostel. Very convenient to go to anywhere. Very comfortable stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The guy at the reception gave us some good recommendations for blue mountains tour and helped with the booking and stuff. The swimming pool us on the top floor and good to visit during summers. WiFi is available only on the first floor. The kitchen has ample of space and hot/ boiling water available 24/7 through a device. The kitchen area is clean. The dining area is colourful, livens up your mood even if you are dining alone. Linen provided only when you check in. Bathrooms are good with hot water all the time. The rooms are spacious and well lit. There are multiple charging points even inside the cupboards. The cupboards can be locked with normal lock and key. Beds are decent and comfortable. Ipersonally enjoyed my stay there and would like to go again. Cheers!

When I removed the sheets from the bed, the mattress was absolutely vile. It had several stains. Nearly every bed had stains on the mattresses, they were filthy and I felt extremely uncomfortable having to sleep on them but I had nowhere else to go. It has been a while since I have visited but I can't shake how vile the shared rooms were. The kitchen was also very unclean and cramped, I couldn't stand going in there and opted for eating out each night. I have never seen anything so filthy before. The service turned out to be less than fine, having to wait for my room to open for hours before going inside because it 'wasn't ready'. The walls in the room were so very thin. I could hear knocking on the walls for some of the night. When walking around on the floors, you can see a variety of stains all over the carpet, it was disgusting and I don't even want to know what those stains even are. The rating this hostel currently has is completely deceiving.
