ThNeither the sculpture of the orb of the man is that interesting. The featureless exterior of the orb make it quite boring to look at. The sculpture of the man looks like something of out an papier-mâché experiment of an art class.
As other reviewers have pointed out, the sculpture is oddly out of place next to the cathedral. Worse, it's not really sympathetic to the architecture of the area, or the anything int he old town of Salzburg.

Read moreIn the middle of Kapitelplatz, there’s a large golden sphere called “Sphaera.” It’s definitely eye-catching and has become a recognizable landmark in Salzburg. However, its modern style feels quite out of place compared to the historic buildings and traditional atmosphere of the Old Town.
The square itself, with its view of the fortress and classic architecture, might look even more impressive without such a modern piece right in the center. While the sculpture adds a bit of contrast and draws attention, some people might feel that it breaks the historic charm of the area.
