I have to say that the attitude of employees is unacceptable. This is a coffee shop with no service, you order and pick up your coffee at the counter. If paying for a $3.50 coffee with debit or visa instead of just being allowed to tap your card on the terminal the employees force you to handle the terminal and first confirm the amount and then tap through two more prompts related to the tip. Now even though I find it strange that they fish for tips at a place that provides no service I guess thats understandable however it being flu season I didnt want to touch the terminal which is touched by hundreds if not thousands of people a day and kindly asked the girl taking my order to hand me the terminal in a state where I can just tap to make the payment so I wouldnt have to touch the terminal and explained to her the reason why. She made up some excuse about it being a legal thing and forced me to go through the prompts anyway even going as far as telling me that if I dont like it I can go somewhere else. When I handed back the terminal to her she said in a condescending way "Now that wasnt so hard was it?". I dont usually bother to complain but if this was my buisness I would want to know about such employees. This was on Thursday January 30th 2020 around 10:45am. This girl had a small tattoo near her left elbow and I believe she had light freckles. She had on a toque. She had...
Read moreI was looking for the best coffee place in Whistler and Lift Coffee came up, so we decided to go. As soon as we walked in, I wasn’t too inspired. The entrance was a bit cluttered with folded mats (which I tripped on) and the bathroom was filthy. As someone who works in the restaurant industry, I notice the little things. Still, I gave it a chance. I ordered a gluten-free banana pecan muffin which was delicious. My hubby ordered a café latté with a shot of Baileys and I ordered a double espresso long with a shot of Baileys. I’m sad to say that I didn’t get what I ordered… I was given a single espresso and there’s no way there was an ounce of Baileys in there. Plus, the Baileys seemed to coil (see picture). When I told the baristas that there seemed to be a mistake in my order, they were offended and said that the double espresso long didn’t pull so they just gave me an espresso and that they ran out of Baileys, which confirmed that I didn’t get the ounce I paid for… They offered to just give me another shot of espresso. My partner’s coffee was really good and so was the muffin, but I give this place a thumbs down for my overall experience and their lack of customer service skills. I will not be returning there,...
Read moreLift coffee co is a staple in the whistler village. As someone who frequently makes a pit stop here, I love the cozy atmosphere and the aesthetic that actually encompasses the whistler vibe. There’s plenty of space out front for mtn bikes, skis and any other mountain gear. The staff is always friendly, knowledgavl, accommodating and skilled. My favourite menu items are caramel macchiato and overnight oats. The perfect breakfast any day on the mtn!
Taking off one star because of what I witnessed in the bathroom this morning. After my morning macchiato and overnight oats, like many people, I find myself in need of the loo… #2…. However, today when I entered the restroom I was met with a conundrum - respect my beloved cafe, or fall victim to my own body’s natural needs. I don’t believe this is rule is legal, and I know it is not moral. I am ashamed to admit, for I am normally a citizen who plays by the rules, that I could not keep up with the new legislation at lift coffee co. I fear many others today did as I have done.
A great place for pets and family. I love the covered patio with the heaters on a cold winter’s...
