Excellent staff. Kind, caring, friendly. The Hotel rooms seem to be made out of Paper thin walls. I reserved for a 2 week stay and had already a room changed. The first night they decided to locate everyone on the same floor, including the Hotel staff due to COVID-19 restrictions in town they couldn't go home at night. I had a couple with kids on one side and playing with what sounded like a Basketball against the wall connecting to my room and on the other side an Foreign that arrived at midnight and decided to be as loud as possible. Even the Hotel staff agreed on hearing the same loud noise. A week in the Hotel and the staff member in charge of designating rooms, decide to locate a family of 5, parents and 3 kids, above my room. Again, this rooms walls seem to be made out of paper and I have been up since 2 am because of how obnoxious the family is acting in their room. Called the front desk and they thought it was a good idea to ask me to change rooms again and at 4 am when I called. Its now 5:14 am and they haven't stopped. The Directives are totally careless. When you try to contact them, they don't really acknowledge you and /or answer your emails. I made a 17 day reservation through an internet site, because unfortunately the Hotel site only offers top pricing even though, out of more or less than 100 rooms, only 15 approx. are occupied. I have to leave on the 14th day and asked Wolf Alexandrovich, General Manager, last week if he could consider giving me a voucher or bonus for a day or two. A week later yesterday, got an email not from Mr Alexandrovich, but from Nicolas Perez Quintero, "Front Desk Manager" telling me that they wont be giving me anything since I didn't book directly with them and didn't pay top price. Why is this an issue if they have deals with internet sites in order to get costumers in? Do they actually believe that a Bill for almost $1300 is nothing especially at this time? Do they actually think its a good idea to tell a customer, that even if they're leaving 3 days early and paid for it, nothing is going to be done about it? Have to say, very disappointed. I traveled quite a lot and love leaving good reviews about places that I've stayed so they continue on with their service. Its the first time that I felt the necessity of letting people know about this...
Read moreWe stayed here due to it’s location by Parque de la 93 and for a 5* hotel it was as expected (which is a good thing). We had booked a Junior Suite and enjoyed a very large suite with a nice bedroom and living/dining room with 2nd TV during our stay.
The welcome and check out did stand out to us. The concierge who looked after us the most during our stay, Nadar, was extreamly welcoming and warm. He had amazing positive energy and really was there to provide for anything we ever wanted. The gym was decent and although it was very small, it was functional and has 2 TV’s so I could watch sport while running which was fun. The pool is a little small too, but also functional, similar for the Sauna, although I wasn’t able to get the sauna hot enough to use.
We only had very small issues but nothing to take away a star. For example, we had a misorder with room service due to a language confusion, however they corrected it and provided great service to remiedate, which was much appreciated and turned a bad experience into a very good one. We also had a few noises from pipework but they came to fix those very quickly too. Overall, the service from the front desk and staff was excellent, everything was done promptly.
The breakfast was probably the best I’ve had in Colombia, with a huge variety of foods and drinks and staff on hand for everything.
Location wise it felt very safe and the park is nice with a nice selection of restaurants. I do recommend the Mexican next door to the hotel too, the food was exquisite and I was shocked how great value for money it was. Although most the tourism stuff is around La Candelaria, it’s a short 20-30 minute Uber away. I walked around the area everyday, to the supermarket and to play Padel Tennis at the clubs nearby and felt...
Read moreThis hotel is a mix bag. One the one hand, the service at Gare 93 (the hotel restaurant) is excellent. The breakfast buffet is great and its wait staff is incredible. They greet you with a smile and genuinely provide excellent service. I'd particularly like to thank Leny, who was always sweet, courteous and attentive. The location of the hotel is excellent. Close enough to el Parque de la 93, to take advantage of all the great restaurants, without having the noise and revelry at your doorstep when you're ready for a quiet evening. Then there's the hotel itself, the rugs were not vaccuumed daily (or even every other day) and desperately needed. The beds were hard as nails, no pillow top. There was a lightbulb out on the desk lamp and they weren't able to replace it immediately (really, no extra lightbulbs on hand??). Then there's the front desk staff.....not impressed. Some front desk staff members could learn a few things from the wait staff at the restaurant, especially a young man named Ederl. When I requested the charges to my room the day prior to check out, he really seemed as though I was bothering him and didn't bother to print them out for me. When he charged my credit card, he did it twice. I called the hotel regarding the duplicate charge and was told to email the hotel's reception desk general email account, which I did. Seven (7) days later, I still hadn't received a response so I filed a dispute with my credit...
