Please read. Be aware!!. 1. Staff are disorganized and lack of team communication (which led me getting cursed by another ignorant customer) 2. Potential scam!!!!
Disorganized and Lack of team communication. I waited on one single line for a cashier just like other customers. I was assisted at the 1st counter and asked for tax free. I was told that tax free is only available on the 3rd counter. So I ended up grabbing my items and waited specifically for the 3rd counter. Now, another customer passed by thinking that I lack of manners by creating a new line instead of waiting in the original line. He cursed not too loud but it was enough for me to hear it clearly. I let it go as I don't want to create a problem as I'm a foreigner. HOWEVER, then come another issue. Since I waited specifically for the 3rd counter for tax free, the guy from 1st counter didn't mention anything to another staff, so 3rd counter cashier thought I cut the line and discussed with 2nd cashier lengthy. Now, I noticed the concern, I tried my best to tell them that I was on the line and didn't cut the line. I doubt he understood me but he helped me anyway. HOWEVER, here's come the potential scam.
Potential scam!!! Since cashier from 3rd counter now aware that Im a foreigner with a small-to-none of Japanese communication. My final total came to approximately 9800 yen tax free, however, toward the end, he wanted me to sign a small receipt that didn't show any of item and I had no idea with it said but it was evenly 11,000 yen. I checked the first itemized receipt since it showed how much taxes being deducted and did a quick calculation, even with the tax, it would have been 10700 yen (still impossible for 11,000 yen) that's over 1000 yen of unknown charge. I pointed it out to the price difference from my finalized receipt. I wanted to take the picture of it but the cashier immediately took it away and apologized for "the mistake", it happened very quickly and briefly. The cashier moved on and acted like it never happened.
Be very careful. I saw another review of another customer with a similar experience. At least this location, you won't be able to see what they scan or what happens...

Read moreAs a hotel guest staying nearby, I visited the Picasso Akasaka location of Don Quijote. Compared to other Don Quijote shops I've been to, this one was on the smaller side. The selection was still decent, but the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed and understaffed at times. Overall, the employees were helpful, but the store's size and staffing levels could use some improvement to provide an optimal shopping experience. Despite these minor issues, it was still a convenient option during my stay...
