A complete rip-off, DO NOT RECOMMEND. We’ve been going here for a while now. Today according to their website, it is open from 9:30am-6:00pm. We arrived at 11:30am with the intention of staying until close. They informed us that at 2pm there was a private event and we would need to leave. We had no idea, but they told us that we have to check their Instagram daily in order to see the updates… we were never told this before, but ok. Then, they intent to charge us for the FULL DAY even though they will close 4 hours early for their event. We try to explain that we don’t find it fair to pay for the full day if they won’t let us stay the full day. If we can get a discount because THEY are kicking us out early… and the place is completely empty. Both the employee and the owner tell us that we have to pay for the full day even though we won’t be allowed to stay the full day and there is no one else there. Obviously, we left and we are never coming back. Terrible business.
Edit: I did look at the hours before you changed them after seeing my comment, or else, I wouldn't have known your regular business hours by memory either. We’ve been there three other times and we have our coffee stamps to show it. And, although you didn't dare answering me when we were letting your employee know about the unfair situation, you were standing right there listening to the whole conversation. You were fully aware. The place was empty and you know you made a mistake on the hours since you've decided to update them now for the whole week, so you should have come up with a solution. The one star review stays as it’s well deserved for the...
Read moreKind note to the owner:
I understand that prices go up during the summer (15€ to access the playhouse), but with that comes the expectation of a smooth and enjoyable experience. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case during our visit on a busy Sunday morning.
There was only one employee managing everything — she was doing her absolute best and deserves praise for staying kind under pressure, but it was clearly overwhelming for her. One customer ended up upset after waiting 40 minutes for just a coffee and juice. We ourselves waited over 15 minutes just to pay. Everytime we visit, it's the same story - dificult to order (the order I don't even need but have to buy something...), dificult to pay.
Because access to the play area requires making a purchase, a big part of our visit was spent waiting — to order, to get the order, or to pay — instead of enjoying the space with our child.
If the purchase requirement stays in place, I’d kindly suggest making sure the café can keep up, either with more staff or faster systems. Otherwise, it might be fairer to rethink that rule. At the end of the day, families aren’t just spending money — they’re spending their limited free time, and that...
Read moreI was asked to take down my last review however I still feel I should be able to share my experience for others coming or wanting to join in the classes. I tried to register my baby for classes on numerous occasions in October and November whilst visiting the area via WhatsApp and via email as suggested on the website and instagram. These went unanswered. I went to Stephys with my baby anyhow to see if the class was on in person. It wasn’t on. The lady serving behind the coffee machine seemed very confused when I was asking her about the classes. I ended up showing her the website. She gave me a business card with the email and the what’s app number I had already contacted multiple times. I didn’t get any info off of her regarding the play area such as the price or if I could go through to that area etc. I ordered a matcha and then left. That was my experience. Hopefully you have better...
