I have recently returned from a wonderful 4 day stay at the CERVO mountain resort with my daughter. The reception arranged for a free pickup from the train station and the wonderful gent who picked us up gave us a lot of information about the area as we were heading up to the resort and he was very knowledgeable about Zermatt. When we were checking in, we were given fresh water and small towels to cool off as it was a hot day while our luggage was taken down to our room. We stayed on the ground floor of a Nomad lodge where the climbing wall is located which is the building next to the spa. Fantastic view of the matterhorn from the patio and we got to see paragliders coming down the mountain throughout the day. The room was spotless, spacious and extremely comfortable. The toiletries, towels and robes supplied where all fantastic quality. The area was silent of a night so we had no trouble sleeping in the comfy beds with plenty of bedding and pillows. I would say that it felt like I was at a home away from home but this was far more luxurious than home! The resort has multiple restaurants however we only made use of the Bazaar restaurant for breakfast each day and one evening meal and it was a lovely experience. The food was excellent quality and presented perfectly. The breakfast buffet consisted of various pastries, cereals, fruit, breads, cheeses, meats and drinks. Staff made sure everything was always topped up so they never ran out of anything in the buffet. The resort is a short walk (or ride) up a winding path to get to, however during the day you can use the lift at the Sunnega/Blauherd/Rothorn station at the base of the village to take you up directly to the resort. If you are arriving after the station is closed, you can call up to reception who will give you an access code to enter the station and use the lift or if you have already checked in, your room key will also grant you access to the station. All the staff I interacted with were all bi-lingual which was massively helpful as I'm not, they were all a delight to speak to and a true credit to the resort. When we checking out, the lady on reception took a polaroid photograph of us with the Matterhorn in the background and gave it to us with a small booklet as a souvenir. A wonderful gift as a memory of our holiday. All the staff made me and my daughter feel very welcome at the resort and everyone at CERVO made the experience an absolute joy. I will definitely be returning in the future and would highly recommend CERVO for a luxurious, quiet escape.

It’s our first time in Zermatt, we chose to stay at this hotel because of the great reviews, and the staff were indeed very friendly and helpful. From David, who picked us up from the train station, to Oliver, who introduced us to the environment and room, and the restaurant staff during breakfast—they all made us feel very welcomed. he hotel provides a free shuttle service from the train station. I contacted them myself the night before our stay, and despite the changes in our arrival time due to heavy rain, the hotel was very prompt in responding, which made us feel reassured. Spa was also very nice! U may have breathtaking views of Matterhorn if you visit there when sun goes down. However, there were a few aspects of our stay that we were not quite satisfied with, especially considering the $772 USD per night rate: 1. We stayed in the Alpinist, which is part of CERVO's five-star series. We booked the Roof L room because the photos on the website showed a direct view of the Matterhorn from the balcony. Unfortunately, we were assigned room 103, where two-thirds of the view was obstructed by tall trees, making the terrace on the left side of the room practically useless. It felt misleading, and perhaps we should have requested to avoid room 103 when booking. 2. After descending from Gornergrat, we called the hotel for a pick-up, but still waited at the station for about 25 minutes with our luggage. Additionally, on the day of checkout, we encountered an elevator malfunction when returning from town, forcing us to hike up the mountain for over 20 minutes at noon. It was truly exhausting🥵

The view is spectacular and the literal opposite of the service which is chaotic, lacking and could best be described as abhorrent. Otherwise the place is in a top notch location with great food, a reasonable wine card and not to shabby cocktail menu. Food: Probably one of the best severely overpriced burgers you’ll ever eat. Go ahead pair it with a side of truffle fries to make it extra sinful. On a serious note all of the food is good and they specialize in Italian classics and for an Apres joint on a ski hill they do it quite well with excellent ingredients. Drink: Good drinks and great wine if you’re really really really really patient. Ambiance: It’s a sun terrace at the end of a ski piste in Zermatt overlooking the village and the Matterhorn. It’s good good vibes and often has a nice Apres party atmosphere. Service: Look you don’t get away with service like this without making it up somewhere else. The service is awful. Not only do they not take your order to begin with; when they do they don’t know where or what or who or how or when. I mean it’s bad! Like chase the server who left your drink on an island because he doesn’t have a clue what’s going on bad. Over the last 5 years I’ve been here more times than I can count so I’m telling you the rest of it is totally worth it! Just put on your patience cap.

Location: Hotel Cervo is strategically situated on a slight elevation with stunning views of the Matterhorn. It proves to be an ideal location for skiing enthusiasts, given its direct proximity to lifts and the valley run. Service: The service provided was commendable, characterized by a good and friendly atmosphere. Rooms: We opted for the Alpinist Roof L room, offering breathtaking views of the Matterhorn. The balcony proved to be an ideal spot to bask in the winter sun. Food and Drinks: The hotel Cervo boasts diverse restaurants. Our dinner at Ferdinand was good. Breakfast at Bazaar was exceptional, offering an extensive selection, and warm dishes could be ordered from the menu. Facilities: The ski room was well-equipped, providing ample space and benches for putting on ski gear. The small spa, complete with an outdoor paddling pool, added a nice touch to the overall facilities. Summary: Hotel Cervo is a great choice for skiing enthusiasts, featuring a pleasant ambiance and excellent restaurants. I would highly recommend this hotel. However, it's worth noting that the hotel prices are set to increase by 30% next year for the same period, room and services. Regrettably, due to this significant price hike, we won't be returning to Cervo in 2024.

Food is very bland and crazily overpriced, staff is not knowledgable or has any follow through like booking reservations or knowing where to ski, hotel is loud (inside and outside)with apres, rooms look photographable for social media but are very uncomfortable. Linens scratchy. No humidifiers! Limited hot water for showers. No water or food in ski room. Also requires a LOT of walking up and down many stairs - within the hotel and also quite far to town - not just a quick elevator ride. The spa and spa staff are quite lovely, however! You need to look beyond the glowing reviews or marketing photos on insta. Come here for a beer after skiing or a spa treatment but certainly not to stay. This place feels more like a 3 star hotel, not somewhere that is 800+ per night. Low attention to detail that just does not feel luxurious. This might be because the founding owners no longer directly manage the hotel. Read the low and detailed reviews carefully on other review websites before booking. We wish we did!
