Snoopers Paradise is just as the name suggests. If you like to snoop and don't mind scouring every nook and cranny amongst such a variety of many a buried treasure - from many a varied era and a bonus for you if you just love everything that is Retro/Vintage then this is the place for you. I'm a regular customer and I never get bored of visiting this lovely store. As you enter the store - directly to the right of you there is a range of Vintage/Retro Clothing and Handbags. Upstairs is Snoopers Attic which has a miscellany of clothing and bric-a-brac. Each stall is numbered - so if anything is locked inside the cabinet you will see a number at the side. If interested just go to the main desk and quote this and a member of staff will come to assist you. The shop does advocate responsible browsing and any breakages have to be paid for-so you just need to be careful as you browse. Along with CCTV which is there to protect all of us security wise. Prices vary dependant on what you are buying-so do bear in mind this. All the second-hand lamps for example - are refitted with new wiring and a plug and safety tested before you buy-which is excellent. I'm very happy to be able to visit this store. Please also visit Berts Homestores - The Hardware Shop which is very nearby-they sell some lovely good quality brand new items for the household. I cannot praise highly enough either of these stores. Thank You for taking time to read my entry and...
Read moreStrange shop - a small angry man refused to sell a straight razor to me because apparently it is a "banned item"... Yet it was advertised for sale in a cabinet amongst knives and scissors. They had several other cabinets with vintage/antique pen knives and lock knives so it is difficult to walk away from that without reaching certain conclusions about this man's prejudice...
How are all these blades in his shop not "banned items" also, surely something for the council to look onto.
If you are wondering... I was smartly dressed as I just had a couple of work meetings. So I didn't look like I was about to go on a rampage down the Brighton Lanes with a straight razor which is as sharp as a butter knife.
I still went ahead and purchased a shaving brush from them as it took a little while for me to realise what this man's problem with me was. The two ladies who served me were very pleasant and professional.
Ps. It was not a straight razor (or a cut throat as you called it)... It is...
Read moreAbsolutely some of the most vile rude staff I have come across in Brighton really lets the city down as the sheep clearly love it hence the day tripper reviews. Everything’s a bother, they open something that they’ve not displayed 80% of the prices correctly and clearly on to blast you with some extortionate sky high price on them look at you like scum when you don’t pay £26 for a keyring or £11 for a fun deck of cards that you’d pick up for £1 in a charity shop or 50p at a boot fair. This is the equivalent of going on eBay and paying the price of the highest listed item for the last 90 days but in the company of day trippers, vile horrible rude staff (easily 3 out of 4 of them are rude I admit their is some nice ones) if an owner bothers to read this mystery shop yourself you’ll be surprised and realise £1000’s of pounds a day walk out this place. I even here people saying i’d of bought this if I saw a price or they too worried to ask the horrid...
