Only giving it two stars and not one because the manager, Chris, really tried hard to fix things that went wrong, and oh god did they go wrong:)
When I was booking, the manager (a different one) made sure I didn't forget for a second that the minimum spend is 50pp. To be honest, felt more like I was paying taxes than making a bar reservation, with all the "50% now, and this is how much you will have to pay when you come" - having it repeated several times did annoy me a bit, but that's not a big deal.
The funniest thing is, we never got to pay the whole 50pp because there was just nothing to pay for. We wanted to order more, but the staff just didn't work properly. With drinks, I had to take trips to the bar to inform the waiters that we ran out of drinks, that some of my guests had been sitting for over 20 min without even a glass. Actually, I should have kept the tip for myself because I was doing a lot of the waiters' work. Food-wise, it was an even bigger disaster. We ordered two starters platters at around 7.50, and an hour and a half later (!) they still weren't there. When I asked several times, a waiter came over (way past 9pm) only to ask again what was it that we had ordered... When the platters finally arrived, we were told it was already too late to order mains or anything else because the kitchen was closing. Chris managed to get us some pizzas, but overall the food situation was just ridiculous.
I personally had a fun night anyway: the service was so bad it got reeally entertaining at some point. But guys, not caring about customers is one thing, but you see you're robbing yourself - the staff works so poorly that the guests aren't even given an opportunity to spend money at your place, not even the minimum! Possibly you're understaffed, or maybe please invest in some training?
And that's not to mention other minor things (like, I booked for 11 people but there weren't enough seats for 9, I had to ask three times for more seats to be arranged)
It's all such a shame, you're occupying a fantastic spot. It could be such a great place, but at the moment it's extremely disappointing.
All the best - and thanks to Chris...
Read moreNice view other than that poor effort, had to wait an hour and a half to even get a drink… after asking four members of staff including the ‘manager’ who didn’t even apologise after I had to get up and find him myself and explain this. After asking multiple times the staff members just kept walking past us, brought out our food ten minutes later still no drink. I advised I didn’t want to pay full price as they had taken so long, I was told no again with no apology for the waiting time (not sure how it takes an hour and a half to make an Aperol but ok). When in the middle of our desert the waitress tried to take my friends desert whilst she was eating it and wanted us to move seats. The food was mediocre…I was excited to come here and spend the day and night there but ended up leaving, just an overall disappointment and wasted journey from Essex. Won’t be...
Read moreDON'T BOTHER! This bar looks amazing in a great part of London and an amazing view. But unfortunately the pleasantries end there.
There was more staff here than customers and the service was incredibly slow and sloppy. The staff are not all organised and we just felt ignored. There only seemed to be one lady who was actually working and was constantly trying to get the rest of the staff to work help her. The staff also didn't seem professional at all, it was as if they they had no idea what they are doing.
This place has a huge potential but is let down by the lack of decent service and their cocktail menu is abismal. This would be the perfect cocktail bar if they did more cocktails and the service was improved.
I honestly have no idea why this place has 5* reviews. If you want to see real reviews, check...
