For 9 quid, it's a 4 star. The price you pay for its portions that tastes quite alright (which is very commendable for an English breakfast) and a very friendly service from the owner makes it worth it.
Seemingly a tourist hotspot (during my time here there's been a bunch of tourists), all of which are trying the breakfasts. Would I return? Perhaps not, but did I learn something? Yeah, English Breakfast and more specifically the blood sausage can be alright.
What would I hope to get for paying a little more in my breakfast? I would love if the sausage (normal) could have more bite to their insides. It being all mush wasn't really my fancy, especially when the blood sausage was also quite mushy (but crispy on the outside when freshly served!).
The buttered toast got quite a bit soggy upon arrival and I was hoping that there's a way about that. Maybe served on the side? Perhaps in a basket rather than stacked on top so that the steam from the freshly toasted bread doesn't turn them soggy?
What did I love about the breakfast? The hash is excellent and so were the fried eggs. Heck, even the tomatoes was juicy and sweet. The bacon's quite alright as well and I have no idea how I would've liked it...
Read moreKicking off our first full-day in London with breakfast at De Vine Cafe was nothing short of a perfect. From the first sip of coffee to the last bite of our eggs, the entire experience was flawless. The service was attentive, engaging, and just the right amount of friendly.
Don’t be fooled by the cozy quarters; the place might be compact, but the experience you’ll have will be anything but. Finding De Vine was a mini adventure in itself, tucked away as it is. The signage is modest, so keep your eyes peeled. A helpful tip from some local construction workers set us on the right path, and before we knew it, we were settling into our seats, coffee in hand, and ready to dive into a breakfast that would set the bar impossibly high for the rest of London.
Moses, who’s become something of a breakfast connoisseur, declared it one of the best breakfasts in London, and that’s no small feat. For a start to the day that feels both like a hidden gem and a hearty welcome, Moses and I can’t recommend De Vine enough.

Read moreWe’ve been In London for 4 days now, and today unfortunately we leave this great nation’s capital. Coming from Australia with two small children, we have been run off our feet sight seeing and taking in what the wonderful city has to offer. Exhausted and hungry, we have stumbled across an oasis.
Let me say this. I’m a man in his mid-late 30’s. I’ve been extremely fortunate in my life. Having had great opportunities to travel and explore, and my privilege is not lost on me.
That said, I only have one regret in my life. And that is that I didn’t find De Vine cafe sooner. Having been on this earth for so long with this cafe absent in my life is my fault and mine alone.
The service was unbelievable. My family and I didn’t feel like we were in a cafe, we felt like we were welcomed into a home. The food was magnificent, coffee was brilliant and if I could give this 6 stars. I would.
However, if I must be honest about something, it’s this.
De Vine is NOT the best cafe in London.
It’s the best cafe in the...
