Extremely unimpressed, we went to see Oppenheimer in imax and were sat 4 rows from the front, had I been sat in any of the forward seats I would have asked for a refund immediately as it would have been unwatchable any closer to the screen (the seats do not recline enough to offset this)
The staff also allowed 15+ people (not exaggerating) to walk in after the movie had already started (after 30/40 minutes of trailers) who had torches on their phones and were talking loudly about where they were seated, completely distracting and unacceptable. They will allow so many people to come in late and distract the entire theatre and believe that’s fine, but then halfway through the movie a member of staff walked In THROUGH the rows of seats to tell a few individuals to take their feet off the empty seats in front of them which is somehow crossing a line in their minds. I appreciate that this is a rule and their feet shouldn’t be on the seats in the first place, but to walk in the way of other viewers in the middle of a screening to enforce it is completely inappropriate for other paying customers and ineffective (will not change the fact that people will do it in every screening regardless) there is no justifiable reason that the staff could not have waited and flagged down these people after the screening was over as customers were leaving instead of interrupting paying customers viewing experience. Seems like they only care about enforcing policies that benefit themselves/their bottom lines and do not care about the viewers experience. You don’t let 15+ people interrupt an entire theatre because they couldn’t be bothered to show up within 30/40 mins of the listed screening time during trailers/ads. And you don’t walk in front of viewers to posture and tell people off for nothing but the sake of principal, if these people were actually being disruptive/damaging property I would understand but this was not the case, the only people causing this disruption were the cineworld staff allowing people to come in extremely late and pointlessly enforcing rules at the wrong time. Will not be coming back, I have never experienced anything...

i would like to put a few complaints regarding the new plymouth cineworld
First of all the disabled toilet down stair smelled really bad to the point i felt sick. They hadn't been cleaned for a while.
Second when going up in the lift to the screen no one had check our tickets so we could of easily had go away with out paying, my advice is to have someone on the lift to check your tickets once you get off and when we went to the cinema screen there was food drinks and loads of rubbish from the last film had been left. i know its a new cinema and i know there are going to be a few things that don't go to plan but you really need to make sure the toilets and the screens room are always clean . but knowing i could easily sneak into the screens without anyone asking for proof. This is also a security risk as well as you have access to all the screens with out being challenge, it wouldn't take a lot to put a little desk and chair. Plus with being disabled having someone on the floor at all time would give us extra bit of safety or security, as knowing there is someone to be on hand to help us if we get stuck or fall, but at the moment there isn't anyone there so if that happens we could be there for a while before help can be called which wouldn't be good for the person or for you as a company.
Third I also asked for a large cup of ice which in your other cineworld has never been a issue but i was told no because the stock is all accounted for the ice was for a drink i had brought from the cinema as i had brought water from the cinema i don't understand why i couldn't have a cup of ice to have with the water. all the lady kept saying is the stock is all accounted for which seems a little bit strange so can you clarify if...
Read moreThis was my first visit and was unsure on the parking but when we entered there were lots of spaces and it was easy to park, we took the lift up but wasn't sure where to go as when you got to the top it was outside. There was no signage as to where to go and it was raining and I had a toddler so was lucky I went in the right direction first.
We went for a private screening for a family birthday. I loved the personal touches with the screen message. The venue was great and clean and tidy the staff were very friendly.
I queued for food and despite it being 6pm and no queue the food hadn't been restocked, the lady serving had to make nachos and the hot dog fresh which didn't bother me with waiting and she was very apologetic. There was a good amount of options but not many offers for multi buys especially with a family. Just on regular size.
When we got to the room we were welcomed in and it was very comfy in the reclining chairs. As it was a family event my little girl had the freedom to move around which she needed to do as it was her first cinema visit so wasn't able to sit long and watch.
I had my hot dog and it was tasty but very basic, hot dog and option of crispy onions. When I finally got to my nachos I was very disappointed as they didn't taste very nice the cheese was oily and the salsa was the same. I have to say the food let it all down as we love treating ourselves to the full experience when we watch a movie, and we came out enjoying the film but not the experience in whole.
It was an ok and glad I hadn't paid as would have been even more disappointed. I won't be going back but glad we tried it and seen what all the...
