-DO NOT STAY HERE- I don't normally write reviews, but I feel compelled to write this one (seeing as it happened several months ago and I still think about it). My friends and I were staying here for one night after finishing a long road trip over the summer. We checked in, showered, and then headed to my parent's house for the evening. We got too drunk (whoops) and weren't able to drive back to the hotel, so we slept in my parent's living room.
Early the next morning, we went to the hotel to get ready for the day, grab our stuff, and check out. Upon arriving, our key didn't work and somebody else answered our hotel room door. Utterly confused- they told us that all of our things had been moved to the office and that they had been staying in this room since the previous evening. I could see into the room where they were eating OUR snacks that we had brought with us.
When we went to the office to ask what happened, nobody seemed all that concerned, bothered, or worried about it. It was sort of a "oh whoops- seems like a mix-up." The stuff that we had in the freezer had been thrown away, our snacks had clearly been taken by whoever was staying in the room now, and we were missing a shoulder bag. No offer to refund us, no real concern on the hotel's part whatsoever.
We called back periodically to see about a refund and our missing bag and they basically started screening and ignoring our calls. Several days later, I went back in person to demand a refund and to ask about our missing bag. They were so weird and sketchy about the whole situation. Some guy went in the back to grab our bag, where he "mysteriously found it," and then rifled through every pocket in front of us! As if he had been using the bag himself and was making sure he didn't leave anything behind!
Overall, we only got a partial refund for the room that other people slept in. The sheer negligence is astounding to me. Don't give these...
Read moreThough written specifically about our recent stay in unit 15D, because Pine Ridge Condos in Breckenridge are all managed by the same Vacasa staff, much of this review is applicable to all these units.
The unit was clean, the bedding was comfortable and the kitchen was sufficiently well equipped. While described as a ski in/ski out unit, it is neither: 1) getting to the lifts in the morning requires a 10 minute walk or use of the free shuttle, which runs frequently, and 2) returning to the unit left us behind the Pine Ridge units across the street from building 15, requiring us to take off our skis and walk for 3-5 minutes.
Communicating with central--not local--Vacasa staff via text proved an effective way of getting mostly accurate information when needed, but not an effective way of addressing problems requiring involvement with the local office, which was understaffed and lacked a sense of urgency. As a result we were left without access to the unit's ski locker for 5 days, requiring us to store our equipment in an unsecured area while the unit's owner sent Vacasa a working key to the locker via snail mail.
As mentioned in prior reviews:
There is NO indoor pool, just two outdoor hot tubs--and the jets for one of the outdoor hot tubs weren't working while we were there, leaving only one fully functioning tub.
Snow plowing on the property is shameful and parking space availability severely reduced as a result: the entry driveway was coated with two inches of ice scraping the bottom of our vehicle every time we entered. We had trouble finding parking because an entire parking lot was full of snow piled...
Read more*Update: the last couple times I stayed here we had a couple issues. The first was in the kitchen. These condos are full homes with pretty much everything you need. We always stop at the grocery store in Frisco to stock up on food for our stay. Our condo had zero spices. No oil or butter. No salt or pepper. Nothing. Had to go back and buy a bunch of stuff I shouldn't have had to. Really left a sour taste in my mouth. The second thing was the location. We rented a condo that was ski in, but when we got there they said that one wasn't available so they gave us one that was way upstairs. We paid more to stay on ground level but ended up having to walk a ways and also go up several flights of stairs. Due to the way we were treated, and the prices they want now, we've decided to rent a different place that's more updated and cheaper while still being on the 4 O'clock run. *
I have been coming here every year for a while now. I love it! People rent their condos out, so I always get a really good price for an amazing condo! It's right on the mountain, you can ski right up to the buildings. Some are on the 4 O'clock run, while some are across the street, which is only a short walk. There's a bus stop in front to pick you up and drop you at the lifts, or about anywhere in town. It's a nice, couple/few block walk to downtown Breckenridge. There's an equipment rental place right next door that does a great job getting you in and out for less money than other...
