The absolute worst dining experience I have ever been part of. It was comically bad, from it taking 30 minutes to put a food order in, to them closing the bar before our entrees had ever begun being cooked (it was 930pm), to the food being cooked hibachi style...but inexplicably in courses. You had to eat the rice fast because the meat was 15 minutes behind it. The chicken was served...then the shrimp....then the steak..then the vegetables that had slow cooked for 45 minutes for some reason. Thankfully the vegetables were mixed. They didn't serve the zucchini, then the onions, then the broccoli like they did with the meats. Nice touch.
The portions were pretty subpar for nearly $30 entrees, the "shrimp appetizer" included with the meal is 1-2 shrimp, which doesn't get served until the shrimp for the entrees is cooked, so it's not really an appetizer unless i'm just not cultured, and that's how they do it in Asia. The amount of rice for our party of 13 was laughable, there would probably be more rice available during a famine, and we were all sitting in anticipation of if there was enough for everyone as it was served down the line. When it wasn't enough for one of our guests, he asked for more fried rice and said he'd pay for it, and the chef told us he couldn't because the kitchen was closed....just like the bar. Bro, you have a chef's hat on...you're clearly qualified to walk into the kitchen and retrieve some precooked rice that you undoubtedly have by the bucket. If you had given a fair portion to start with, we wouldn't be in this mess.
As one final symbolic representation, the chef left the charred grill leftovers on the grill for us to look at while we finished our dinner and signed our checks that couldn't be split more than 4 ways, and included 18% gratuity, which is about twice what it should have been.
Also, the bathroom was out of...
Read moreMy son has a serious wheat allergy. We eat at hibachi restaurants all the time and they accommodate either by cooking first before anything else has been cooked or they’re able to use a gluten free soy sauce. He’s 9, so this isn’t our first rodeo and we don’t make a big deal of it. We ordered shrimp for him and made note of his allergy. The server took note and said ok. The chef comes out and confirms the orders. My wife asked if he had a note of the gluten allergy. He then proceeded to yell in Japanese to the server back and forth while pointing at my wife. The server tried to get my wife to agree to make my sons dinner in the kitchen. We decided at this point it wasn’t worth the fight and my son wasn’t that hungry so we said no just cancel the order the chef continued to cook, starting with the fried rice. Once he was done, he literally flung it all onto my wife’s plate on top of her fork. The fried rice was overcooked and dry and heavily seasoned. My two daughters ordered fillet one was medium, and the other was medium rare. The one that was rare came out last and was obviously overcooked. The server was rude. The chef was rude. The food was subpar at best, and needless to say we will not be returning. $250 for a dinner most of us didn’t eat. Oh and they add an automatic 20% gratuity to ur check. Seems like they know they’re providing horrible service and mediocre food. I would highly recommend you steer clear...
Read moreFrankly one of the VERY BEST Asian cuisines we've EVER had. Every dish was hot & quick and extremely tasty. Service was wonderful and courteous eventhough we showed up at 8pm, which is rather late for dinner. Husband & I agreed that his order of orange chicken was the absolute BEST we have ever had anywhere (and we travel a lot)-- sweet, savory, orangey, crisp and light breading which was obviously done in house and to order but tender inside- absolutely perfect is not an overstatement. Every other dish we had was really, really wonderful too and most were large enough to share between 2 or 3 people. All delish!!! Our daughter left completely stuffed and that's neeeever happened at any Asain cuisine. Ever. She's a tough and picky preteen and she happily had almost a whole plate of pepper steak. (It was very good but for her to think its great and WITH veggies is super high praise.) Everyone else loved the dumplings, shrimp & broccoli, egg drop soup, both fried and steamed rice, and my moo goo gui pan, happily sharing and all agreeing it was a permanent staple for each visit from now on. (We didn't try the sushi or hibachi this time as I think they were out and off for the day, respectively, but if the other foods are an indication of taste, quality, and the soul put into each dish, then I'd bet they're great too.) So seriously, if you are in the area, get off of the main street places for a bit...
