VENICE NAIL LOUNGE — Attraction in Chandler

The place is nice I will admit that but I won’t let that get past the fact that I paid $180+ for a manicure and pedicure and they messed up my natural nails. With my manicure I did request a certain style but mentioned I wanted acrylic OVERLAY.. meaning I wanted the powder but I do not want fake extensions as it does damage the nails and I am on a natural nail growth journey. The man proceeded to tell me that because one nail is damaged he’d cut them all off in which I replied no I spent a lot of time getting it the length to where it’s at. I then told him I’ll get two extension tips where he is claiming I need but instead he insists he cuts all my nails and give me fake tips.. I then told him well then at this point it is not an overlay it is just simply acrylic since all the nails would be fake on top of it being even more expensive AND damaging my nails.. it simply didn’t add up at all considering he “Cared” so much about the health of my nails. He trimmed my nails and left them un even and jagged but when I kept asking about it he proceeded to tell me that HE is the professional and to let him do his job and everything will be fixed at the end.. news flash it wasn’t fixed. Now, for my feet he was so quick to give me to some other lady even though I mentioned since he knows the game plan he might as well finish.. I was passed to this other lady who barley spoke English/understood me and when I tried to tell her my plan she proceeded to go back and forth with me as if I was the one not making sense when all I wanted was an overlay on my toes as well.. she then told me to put my feet in the water and let me tell you it burnt the living day lights out of me it was SCORCHING HOT. I took my feet out and then said that’s it I’d like to END my services here I have been hurt badly my feet was literally red.. she then proceeds to look at me like I’m crazy and looks around as if she didn’t just see what happens. The owner comes I explain to her what happened and she gets the same person who did my nails to do my feet as she didn’t want me to not go (it’s all about money)…so I decided despite in pain to give another chance.. and the lady who was attempting to do my feet makes a comment “Yea well you have to let the water sit and cool down”.. okay if that was the case why did you literally rush me to put my feet in the scorching hot water as if everything was fine but didn’t do a temperature check to make sure it was okay?. When I got my feet done by the same guy that did my nails he cut them extremely short to the point I don’t have any nails at all even though I had mentioned I’ll get a trim but I don’t want my entire nail clipped at all. He gets rid of them and says he will add extensions to them… Why do I want extensions aka fake nails on my toes especially when I already had natural nails?.. I had simply said I just want an overlay (just the powder). He then insists since my toenails have no nail left he’d have to add extensions because the powder won’t “hold” and it’s too short. Honestly, when I say this is one of the most bogus statement I heard I truly mean it. I was literally baffled and speechless considering 1. Had he of listened to me and not cut off everything things would’ve been fine and there would be no need for “fake tips” to be added & 2. You can quite literally do an overlay on any nail even IF your fingers are just stubs and you have no nail..how do you think “Nail biters” or simply anyone trying to grow their natural nails is able to grow them with an overlay?. Obviously you have to start from somewhere that’s how I started was with no nails (after I got damage from acrylic) so I would definitely know. I have no problem paying, I own a small business but they overcharged me and ruined my natural nails I invested thousands on this year in just one visit. I’m extremely saddened all my money went down the drain for nothing. I will not be back you can count on that. I was also lied to about a service they did but I’ll leave it at this. Sorry to leave a negative review, I'm definitely not one of those entitled people who write bad reviews because they didn't get their every wish granted and have a bad entitled attitude. I came here because my normal nail place wasn't available, and the reviews were good. It's just not a good energy when the person doing your hands is gossiping to the woman doing my feet in a different language in a very clearly hostile manner. You can tell by someones inflection and tone. I got to listen to that the entire time. Not very relaxing. Then I had VERY limited color choices for gel manicure. None of the colors they had were anything I would want on my hands, I typically do a sheer pink OPI color but they did not have OPI, this was the only brand they had and it was limited on colors. So because of that, i even considered doing dip which i hate because i like to be able to trim my nails when they start getting long after a week or so. I was open to dip because of the limited gel color selection. But when i asked the tech to please trim my nails down, she got a bit upset and said she cannot do dip then because i wanted my nails short. Ok. I'm trying my best to be flexible and not difficult, but clearly it's not helping. I'm getting attitude. She keeps saying how short my nails are and how difficult it is. I'm sorry, I work with my hands, I need them short. And I never ever had an issue with my short nails before with anyone else I go to, and I get manicures and pedicures regularly every other week. I was just kind of surprised how much trouble this was causing. I'm not even a troublemaker or a difficult customer. It was disappointing and not very pleasant, the whole experience. I'm supposed to be relaxing and enjoying. Not stressed. It's ok, I know now not to go back and to wait until my normal nail person can see me. Lesson learned. Such a bummer, it's a beautiful salon. Again, sorry to leave a bad review, but others need to know about these "issues". If you need a sheer pink gel, like OPI bubble bath or something like it, you're out of luck here. Oh and update-- it's 2 days later and my gel is peeling already. Maybe because she filed down the ends of the gel nails after finishing them which exposes the seal, causing them to peel. Waste...

Never again will I be deviating from my usual nail salon. Things started out promising as they were able to accommodate me as a walk-in, but my experience began to sour quickly after that. I was having my nails refilled and painted with a lighter gel polish. After the first coat I noticed black lint and specs mixed in with the polish on every nail on my right hand. I drew my technician’s attention to the issue at which point she denied they were even there. I was adamant about their presence and wanting them to be fixed, and that’s when she became abrasive, raised her voice at me, and told me to pick another color. Seriously? I came in wanting a lighter sparkly neutral and was not going to pick a dark color because my technician refused to clean the debris from the black buffer on my nails. I told her she was being very rude and the tone wasn’t necessary, as it was a simple request that I asked without an attitude . She walked away and someone else had to step in to rush and finish the job as I only had an hour allocated for my time here. While fixing my nails more black specs appeared yet again on one of the nails at which point they both began to snark and start talking to one another about the situation (very unprofessional). While fixing my nails, my pinky nail was cut with the nail file, and the finished product looked awful. Not once was there an apology delivered for the experience or the technicians unprofessional behavior. Complete waste of $45 and no I did not leave a tip. Needless to say I will not be returning and will have to pay another $45 elsewhere to get...
