The Decorated Body — Attraction in Cincinnati

I cannot say enough good things about the artists at The Decorated Body. I had my forearm finished up by Hiren Patel who is so kind and talented. He created a piece for me that is something I look at every day with a big smile. I gave him a list of florals and other nature elements that I love and told him to work in whatever he felt most comfortable doing. To my surprise and pleasure, he incorporated all of it, including a little bee friend (whom I named Lil Sebastian. If you know, you know.) and it’s perfect. I am so enamored by my forearm now. What a strange and great thing to be able to say.

Outside of Hiren, while I was there, I also met Bobby and Soapy who were lovely (and entertaining) and helped make the entire experience of being in the shop so nice.

In terms of safety and health, it’s totally clean and sanitary. Everything is wiped down, fresh tools used every time, etc. all that good stuff. An added bonus: the air is fantastic which is a distinction I make because the plant scene they have going on is amazing.

If any of the artists here catch your eye and have a style similar to an idea you have, book it as fast as you can. These beautiful humans are massively talented and excellent to work with. The tattoo you get and the experience you have with them will be something you will appreciate for...

The Decorated Body is an excellent place to be tattooed. All the artists are putting out super high quality artwork. The place is super clean and it's an inviting place to be tattooed. I was greeted by a different tattoo artist than the one that tattooed me. They were very nice and welcoming!

I'll speak specifically about Soapy (insta: @cambodiancupcake) now. I gave Soap an idea that I consider pretty disjointed. I provided a general idea with a poem and a couple of reference artworks. Soap gave me back a design that I never could have imagined. It was better than anything I could have dreamed up! The day of the tattoo was an extremely pleasant experience. Soap showed up and we reviewed the design. Soap adjusted a few things after seeing the design in it's place on my body and we agreed it looked better. Soap was super accommodating and respectful while tattooing the artwork. I had to stop a couple of times for the restroom/snacking/hydrating. I’ve been tattooed by both Soapy and Bobby and both are amazing artists. Soapy listens to your ideas and comes up with beautiful work that is unique to each client. I told her my ideas and she knew exactly what I was looking for and even helped me decide the best placement and size for my tattoo since I was unsure. She was very helpful the entire time and was priced very fairly! Bobby has done an anime piece of mine before and is currently working on a new cover up anime piece for me. He helped me figure out what would be best to cover up my old tattoo by us throwing ideas out to each other and talking about why each tattoo would or would not work as a coverup. He’s super knowledgeable and is sure to answer any questions you might have!
