Such a nice shop and kind and helpful staff (owners). Since the pandemic ended, I pretty much go in there every few months, sometimes dropping a good chunk of change, for some high quality gemstone strands. They carry a mix of grades (A & B) of gemstones; you will need to ask to see the really fine ones. What they do carry makes you realize what you can get at big box hobby stores is pretty the very lowest grade (junk). They carry MANY different types of chain by the foot (plated, sterling, patina’d sterling and gold filled plus cute ‘fashion’ chain). There is also a selection of unusual sterling findings plus some tools, wire, fine quality charms/fashion charms by the piece/fashion quality findings and some unusual goodies sprinkled about like African beads, trendy things, and lots of made up samples. I love going in there—staff is always friendly and helpful — so I am sad to see old negative reviews about this shop; most of them are several years old and probably about former owners/ staff. Read moreI wasn't impressed with this store. Organic Stones appeared to have some nice things, but the customer service was poor. I went there looking for materials to replace a necklace I own, thinking that, since I'm unable to find one to buy, I'd make one instead! When I finally got a woman to help me, and explained what I was trying to do, she looked skeptical, and advised I take a class. Granted, she was right...hand-knotting sounds MUCH more difficult than I expected. So, I asked if Organic Stones does custom work, and how much it might cost to have some make the necklace I want. But the woman looked tired, and even more skeptical, as she explained that the beads alone would cost more than $60.00. Guess this amount is a lot of money to her. I'd have gladly paid any amount the woman quoted, but it seemed she wasn't interested, so I left...
Read moreOrganic Stones has charms, findings, and beads that you don't find at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. That being said, it is easy to find the same strands of beads online for much cheaper than they sell them for at Organic Stones. Their charms range from $1.00-$10 apiece. Yes, a piece. As in for one. The findings are the most reasonably priced items in this store. However, scouring the clearance section at Michaels or using a 40% off Hobby Lobby coupon at Hobby Lobby will give you better value. The only reason that I might consider shopping here again is because they have some unique pieces. When it comes to prices, they have really gouged them up super high. I would try Fire Mountain Gems since they have MUCH better prices and $5 shipping... if you don't mind the wait. It's worth it. This...
